Reawakening of House Dagoth

"The Sixth House was not dead, but only sleeping. Now it wakes from its long dream, and with its Lord, Dagoth Ur, it comes forth to free Morrowind of foreign rulers and divine pretenders. When the land is swept clean of false friends and greedy thieves, the children of Veloth will build anew a garden of plenty in this blighted wasteland." -- Dagoth Gares

Following the War of the First Council, Dagoth Ur remained alive, immortal, hidden beneath Red Mountain in spite of the Tribunal. The Ghostfence kept trapped his Blighted hosts, and though ash storms were commonplace in parts of Vvardenfell, the Blight storms were contained.

Many centuries have now passed since the destruction of the House Dagoth, and the world is changing. Vehk's power wanes, and as the Ghostfence weakens, the Blight is bleeding through the fault lines. Dreamers fill the ranks of Red Mountain and its outposts. Sleepers await the coming of his glory. And now at thiis fated hour, an outlander has emerged, thought by some to be the reincarnation of Lord Nerever Indoril himself.

The Ghostfence will fall, the Blight will spread, and the sleeping House will rise again to cast down the False Gods and foreign rulers.

Quest Overviews

Spoiler
Joining Great House Dagoth

In the caverns of Ilunibi, Dagoth Gares awaits you with an invitation from Dagoth Ur. If you choose to go willingly, you will receive a sample of his Lord's courtesy, and be sent along to Red Mountain. If you decline, the path to join the House Unmourned will be lost to you.

Beneath Red Mountain, Dagoth Ur will ask you to confirm your choice. If you accept, you will be inducted into House Dagoth. If you decline, he will demand that you leave his presence, and you will be permitted to go back to Caius Cosades to start the Cure Corprus quest.

To be a bit more precise, it is a "joinable House Dagoth" mod that I've been working on. I've been away from my apartment and was a bit bored so I thought I would create a [WIP] thread finally. Not that there is really any rush... this will be a long undertaking for me, I'm sure, but I was ready for a thread to start showcasing things.

I know that there are two other such mods ("Great House Dagoth" and "Sixth House") but my vision is closer to "Rise of House Telvanni" in scope. I want to join Dagoth Ur, and unleash the Blight, and take over Vvardenfell. I want the Imperials removed and the other Houses occupied. There is much to do.

In retrospect I realize the original post is a bit too vague... In time that will change!

Wow, definitely interested in anything House Dagoth related. Haven't played through Sixth House, but have done GHD. It'll be nice to have a 'fresh' Dagoth storyline. And, of course, RoHT is brilliant, so if your drawing inspiration from there then I'm sure this will be a lot of fun.

I liked the Great House Dagoth mod, but I'm curious to see your take on it.

Sounds interesting, 'Great house Dagoth' was and remains one of my favorite mods but I'd be more than happy to try your version of the events; especially as you already intend to solve one of the few issues I have with GHD (the rather abrupt ending).

Good luck with this project I will be following its' progress

Thanks for the encouragement, all. As one who has mostly dealt only with scripting up until this point, I have found myself thinking of features to implement and working only on that... without giving attention to the core of the mod, the quests and dialogue that bind everything together. Fortunately I seem to be getting over that.

If all goes well, perhaps this time next year it'll be beta testing time. Slow and steady wins the race :)
