How can I play D2 online. I've been wanting to for awhile but never found a way to :/ and I can't run D3 on my Toshiba laptop because D3 doesn't support widescreen ans my laptop monitor isn't compensating for this by adding black bars to the sides. Are there any patches for this?

For D2, use D2X Rebirth. It has a built in tracker. For D3, there are command line options you can force it to use widescreens. Check http://www.descentbb.net for info on it.
