Even though I'm still no good at X3, this is X-citing news!

Edit: At the end of this year? 2011 is going to be the best year for game releases in a long time...

Oh no... not MORE must-have games in 2011. The way this is going I'll be a total recluse for 2012 :P
Can't wait for details to come out. Seems they're setting up for some big changes?

Oh awesome! :celebration: This is great news. I think I might have to get out my copy of X3 again.

Here's two things I'd like to see though:
1- cockpits back
2- the ability to put actual people in your ships and maybe train and level them up
I'd be pretty dissapointed if these aren't in it. I'd still get it of course though.

Some months ago I went into a computer store, found X3 being sold at 5EUR, and bought it. Haven't played it yet, nor do I think I will, but I just had to buy it. I had already played X3 for months some years before though. First game where I took a piece of paper out and began plotting routes and stuff. It was great.

graphics look good, but the trailer was really boring. I don't see how that is a trailer really. It didn't tell me anything about the game. I haven't heard of the series, and I was expecting it to tell me a little about it.

Now I go must go and research because the graphics really intrigued me!

I assume you haven't played an X game before? All you need to know is that it is set in space and that Terran Conflict is the best sandbox game ever.

I am not sure if I like what they're saying about faster space travel though. One aspect that I really loved was that the universe felt so damn huge.

Had I not clicked the Comm discussion, I would not have found out about this until much later when I visit their forums

If they can keep the scale, but with faster travel then sure.

Betty is inescapable. You know, as long as Egosoft stops having Betty read the info-boxes every f'ing time you look up anything's info I'll be happy. Make it a toggle or something if it has to be there, but damnit, I don't want to hear her voice every time I try to do a stat comparison between terran and argon m3's.

In Terran Conflict you can toggle it already. I think I'm going to turn her on again, I miss Betty sometimes :(

A more accessible X game? I surely did not expect this to happen. Very intrigued. Only adding stuff and shinies to the old X was overloading it a tad.

ya I haven't. It looks good, and I have never heard of it before, so I really want to see if it will be good enough to buy or not.

i completely svck at X2 and X3 but i cant wait till the next version. even though the games are hard the options they offer are amazing. you can build factories and even tow them to different areas and put ships around them to guard them and patrol the area. at least thats what ive read. im always broke when i play so i guess i have to watch some youtube videos on the proper way to play. :)

Hopefully whatever megaprojects they have in the game won't have such absurd requirements; 150000 taladinium, that's manageable. 450000 ore. Seriously? And it just gets worse and worse.

It's a really fun game though, and Kingdom's End has such relaxing music. I had a couple factories and trade routes going in my save, as well as an M7M which I used to cap an Argon TL later.(Another feature I hope they improve on. Boarding was difficult not for skill reasons but because the interface to start it usually meant you were out of range or in a bad position to board by the time you initiated the command)

Yeah, boarding using the pirate scripts was a pain in the ass. Boarding pods were a must.

Getting the ore isn't so bad. But the crystal and silicon... :cold:

I remember early on getting a Xenon M4 to "bail" once. Sent it off to the nearest shipyard to be picked up later.

Got a message not too long after that one of my ships was under attack. A Q had warped in to the sector. I had no means to take one on at that point and watched sadly as it demolished my newly acquired Xenon M4. :sadvaultboy:
