Rebuff the Typhoon

Post » Sat Mar 09, 2013 9:35 pm

I don't know why the Typhoon was nerfed in Patch B. If it was overpowered then, it's a tad underpowered now.

I keep losing to Suppressed Assault Rifles from five feet away, so something's wrong (no, it's not my aim, it's not that I svck, etc.). I mean, this gun is supposed to be good in those ranges, but it's not. And it has a shotgun attachment, too! What good is that? (It svcks too, btw).

It needs to be buffed a bit. Right now, it's okay, but not how it should be. Because Assault Rifles beat it in many CQC situations, and they absolutely destroy it anywhere past that. To make it balanced, the Typhoon needs to get more damage for close ranges.

At least the Jackal got nerfed. In this game and Crysis 2, that thing was super OP.

Im sorry to say this but typhoon is still good idk what ur talking about i had a great match using it on airport crash site the other day got max nanosuit i sprayed the entire enemy team down at close range even before i got max suit i was killing ppl at close range instantly with it like always and yea the mid range damage reduced makes a difference typhoon is still awesome though nerf things all u want crytek ill still use the marshall and typhoon, i sprayed 2 guys down at mid range with typhoon when i had max suit on i sprayed one guy down then the next guy who was shooting a reaper cannon at at me its not op still kills fast at mid range just takes more bullets to kill but i do agree it should get a buff maybe increase damage for close range and reduce range so u cant kill at mid range ppl would stop biching about typhoon just my 2 cents.

Point blank range FTW

The Typhoon was working fine for me yesterday. If you are losing to AR's at close range you must have been inaccurate, standing still, ran into Rapid Fire, lagging, or you didn't get the first shot off. The patch only nerfed the Typhoon's medium range damage, not close range.

I do not know what you are talking about, the typhoon is still the best CQC next to the marshall. And if those people who play the typhoon (which are mostly noobs) would know how to aim, they would instantly destroy everything in a close up 1v1. I might be wrong, but as far as i know there is no assault rifle that beats the typhoon CQC, assuming you can aim.

Very true about first shot, missing just 1-2 bullets(literally) could be the decisive factor between death and life.

I'm not saying it's horribly underpowered, I'm just saying it's a little weak. Because the horrendous accuracy it has coupled with the low damage per bullet makes it lose against Assault Rifles, which have high damage and great accuracy. If two people with just as good aim come across each other, one with a Typhoon and the other with a SCARAB/SCAR/FY71, and shoot at the same time, the Typhoon will lose because of the accurate and powerful nature of Assault Rifles. Even the Feline does better.

Also, at any range past practically 5-10 feet, it's totally useless. At that range, it needs to be able to beat Assault Rifles and SMGs, and only be able to lose to Shotguns. Because Assault Rifles dominate at almost any range, so the Typhoon should never lose to an Assault Rifle.

I have no experience with it pre-nerf because I got Crysis 3 and Fallout: New Vegas on the same day, so I beat Crysis 3 and played a bit of Multiplayer and then played Fallout for the rest of the week. Just beat that, and now I'm back to Crysis, I just unlocked the Typhoon (which I was really excited for), and lose a lot at close range. Not saying that I never win; I do sometimes, but that's just due to me getting the first shot, the other person having bad aim, etc. As I said, if two people have equal aim and fire, the Typhoon loses.

Either buff its damage or make it more accurate.

Recoil and spread are two different things. Recoil is how much your weapon kicks when it fires. Spread is how close the bullets are to where you point, i.e. if I point at the middle of a stop sign and shoot at it, I can have good spread (lands right in the middle), average spread (lands around the middle), or bad spread (lands near the outside/doesn't hit it at all).

Try using the Typhoon at long range and you'll see what I mean. It doesn't have much recoil, but you might hit one out of every 50 shots.
