Recent gaming related purchases

I know there's a music purcheses thread, but I'm not sure if there's one for gaming.

So the title is pretty self-explanatory; what games/consoles/peripherals have you recently bought?

I picked up four 360 games yesterday (one of those 'buy a bunch and get the cheapest free deals). Got Mafia 2, Alan Wake, Alpha Protocol and Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. Played a few hours of Mafia 2 so far; it seems like a solid game, although I think the first one was significantly better over all. Currently waiting while my Xbox downloads an update for Call of Juarez. Never played the first one as it was PC only.

It's been about a month, but I got Demon's Souls. I like it. It's interesting how the game punishes me (in a non-reloadable way, too) for dying and certain actions, the combat is perhaps the best I've seen in any game, let alone just RPGs, and I like the concept of devouring souls to increase my own powers. :chaos: Also, te online features are pretty fun. I like how the online mode is the single-player mode I actually care about with some subtle online features that really just enhance a normal gaming experience. That's how I think multiplayer should be. I avoid playing many games because they barely have a single-player mode and just rehash the same concept of bluntly killing other players in an infinite loop of repetitive mediocrity. Now fighting someone else in Demon's Souls is a challenge and an awesome one, at that. I love invading other worlds. To restore my own life by taking someone else's...

Anyway, I'm not a fan of the gameworld being divided only into linear levels and just a bit of occasional brightness/respite from the lonely, dreary gameworld (such as a town) would augment my experience, but I love much of the rest.

I bought a 320GB PS3 fairly recently. It came with Uncharted 2 and Mod Nation Racers.

I bought the God of War Collection (1& 2 updated) GoW 3, Motor Storm, and NFS Shift. I paid $60 for all of them, some new, some used. Should have had Motor Storm Pacific Rift to but they can't find the disk, just the case.

It was really nice being able to play the GoW series straight through, in HD. :) I never played it on the PS2. (Well, about 5 minutes. My friend has it.) I considered waiting for an all in one disk like the Tomb Raider Trilogy but decided I wanted it now. I like the thought of them all on one disk. Makes life simpler.

The most recent Xbox games would be Mass Effect 2 and Fable 3.

For PC, Batman AA.

Rome: Total War most recently. Before that I don't remember buying anything since winter, so yeah.

Now I'm thinking about buying Shogun 2 because I really enjoyed Rome. :P

Bought another basic Logitech Dual Action gamepad to fulfill my mad obsession with older games.

The only game this year that I will buy is Skyrim, so far. Getting way too old and picky about games.

I haven't picked up too much lately. In the last two months I've gotten:

- bought 1...2...3...KICK IT! and Killing Floor during Steam's potato pack sale
- bought Batman: Arkham Asylum during the midweek madness sale a week or so before that
- picked up Medal of Honor (the latest one) when it was 75% off on D2D
- pre-ordered Crysis 2, FEAR 3, Manchester United 6 and Portal 2

I tend to wait for games to go up for a decent discount before I buy them. Pre-ordering three games in one year (soon to be four, when Skyrim pre-orders start) is really unusual for me.

Haven't needed any accessories, computer upgrades, or anything like that in a while.

Pre-ordered Portal 2, bought the Undead Nightmare collection, and finally got around to buying Modern Warfare 2. Despite what some of the more hipster members on this forum would have you believe, the single player is actually quite good. I prefer the stealthier Task Force 141 missions to the 'sit there and pump 6 magazines into a concrete wall until someone dies' Ranger missions, though.

Pre-ordered Portal 2

This. The store near me had this thing going on, where if you traded in a game worth at least $40, they'd pay for the rest of the pre-order. Black Ops finally became worthwhile.

I stopped there to salute you, :goodjob:

Anyways, I got 1...2...3...KICK IT! the second it was on steam and I bought Anomaly: Warzone Earth a few hours ago.

I also pre-ordered Brink on Steam a couple weeks back.
