Got me John Dummer's Cabal (1969). Verrry good blues. Bit like an energetic Hot Tuna, if ya will.

Mostly pretty standard, but a few really stand out - Medecine Weasel ? Really ? It's a kind of weird hypnotic circular violin tune, with Native-American sounding drums. Oddly persistent. Also Welfare Blues, pretty good one.

Oh yeah, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZtSgiBX3bQ

Also Madness' The Liberty Of Norton Folgate (2009). Can't believe they're still making albums. Anyway, didn't listen to all yet, but it sounds pretty decent - very much like the old Madness. Which is good, cause I wasn't all that impressed by the Dangermen Sessions, really. And yeah, I listen to Madness on and off since I'm 11. Sue me.

Good album. I think I still like Colors a bit more though.

Got DJ Shadow - Endtroducing and Fink - Biscuits For Breakfast (got the latter as a gift).

That is a truly amazing album.

I needed a brootz guitar, so I bought a Charvel San Dimas (bodacious!) Style 2 in candy purple. Should get it in mid-April. These are made in Fender's U.S facility in Corona, California. They are being discontinued, as (apparently) the telecaster styles aren't selling as well as the strats. Good thing that I love teles. Bought it new for $699. Their normal price is $1200.

Also bought a 1983 Smith-era Elite top loader bridge and a chrome pickguard for my 2007 Telecaster. I've always read about the differences between top loading and string-through, but I can't wait to hear the changes for myself. The new metal pickguard will be replacing my acrylic mirror guard. I curious if the weight and mass will contribute to more sustain.

Dude what the hell!? I've been GAS-ing hard for exactly one of these guitars, except the color. I'm thinking polar white. Urrrrgh shred tele; want so bad. You have to tell me how it plays when you get it.

Hahaha! Excellent taste, mate. I'll keep you updated. ;) This will be my first guitar with a floyd. I'll probably have to watch a few youtube videos on setting it up.

The necks on these things are supposed to be worth the price alone. I've read they are like modern C-shaped Fenders but a tad slimmer and flatter as you go up the neck. They are also unfinished, so they darken and get that vintage look rather easily.

Candy purple wasn't my first choice. I actually wanted https://www.themusiczoo.com/images/12-29-09/USA_San_Dimas_Style_2_Pegan_Gold_1.jpg, but Charvel only made 150 of each color and I'm afraid they are all gone. :( However, I still see a few Polar Whites for sale. They are at their normal price of $1,200, though. If you still want in on a $699 one, Candy Red seems to be widely available.

Well, I actually did find one of the white for $699, I just wonder how soon I'll have to act. I don't really want to spend that money at the moment, but I don't want to miss out either. Though I must say, I think the color on the neck and fingerboard looks really clean and awesome the way it is; how much do unfinished necks usually darken?

Yeah, Charvel only made 150 of each color, so just keep an eye on it to be safe.

I found some pics showing how dirty the necks get:
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2692/4386607282_6aacfb7b88_b.jpg
The guitar on the left has 2 gigs under its belt, whereas the guitar on the right has over 40.

Another example:

I just bought some Tru-oil to rub on my Fender tele and incoming Charvel. It should give the necks a nice amber tint. If you want to keep the neck clean, a few drops of naptha and a microfiber rag should clear all the dirt right off the maple.

I recently replaced much of my Foetus vinyl collection, plus bought a few of the later purchases.

VERY unfortunately, I can't find a link of 'Mutapump' from the album 'Gash' to show you, but it's one of the most jaw-droppingly brilliant excellent songs ever, ever, ever.

I bought 'Nail', 'Gash', 'Flow' and 'Love', and they are all the most brilliantly amazing things ever, ever, ever. (*bounce* *bounce* *bounce*)

I'd love to say "if you love Nick Cave you'll like this" or "if you like Nine Inch Nails" you'll love this - but it's all meaningless. If you love music, you'll love it.

Generally, the earlier the stuff, the more "industrial" it is, and the later it is, the more "math rock/quasi-classical" it is.

He's the guy who does the Venture Brothers soundtrack. He's remixed NIN and the Chilli Peppers, who was contemporary to Nick Cave and Lydia Lunch and Marc Almond and many others. The world is roughly divided between the people who pretty-much-worship-JG-Thirlwell, and those who've never heard of him.

I think this track is clean enough for you to hear it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qbe33jNTKz4

Is it representative of his 30-year career? Not even close. Just look him up. It doesn't even matter what genre of music that you're into - from indie to pop to classical to ear-shattering metal, he's done something you'll love.

Recently bought some CDs.

Weezer (Blue Album) by Weezer. Not much of a Weezer fan, but they're good.
Inside In/Inside Out by The Kooks, and Konk by The Kooks. Good British Indie band I just got into. Really digressed from my usual music taste with this band.
Toxicity by System of a Down. Every rock lover needs at least 1 System CD in their collection, right?

Then later on this week I'm picking up my http://images.google.com/images?q=fender%20jaguar%20hh&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi.

I'm also highly anticipating the new Deftones album, "Diamond Eyes" coming out next month.
