Recent Music Related Purchases: CDs, T-shirts, Tickets, Inst

So, contrary to my previous post, I have now bought myself a vinyl player. Now, it's time to get working on that huge list of LPs I've had going.

Anyone here know any good sites for buying LPs (or even just music in general, though preferably vinyls)? I'll likely keep getting a lot of my music from Amazon, but I was wondering if there are any better sites that are just dedicated to music. Oh, and buying anything locally is a lost cause. My city doesn't even have a single music store (for buying music, not instruments and the like -- we have those). Not a one! I hate it so much.

I've just bought "Mothership" (Led Zeppelin) on 180gram vinyl. 4 LPs, £30. A website called Rhino Records. My Uncle has bought stuff from them in the past, reliable and reasonably priced. The other one I've used is Normanrecords.

Don't think I've bought any new CD's since my last post. But I have tickets for seeing Johnossi in Uppsala in October, and Lars Winnerb?ck in Stockholm in August. :)

California Gurls on Itunes, its only available on Itunes which is a bummer.

A DVD of Michael Jackson preforming one of his History tour concerts. Hes brilliant. At one point they let a girl on stage to hug him. When she had to go a security guard had to rip her off him and fireman's lift her away.

Bought a piano! £100 for the piano, £90 to move it. It's rather old (and a bit worse for wear) but, still, it sounds good. Taught myself the MGS theme tune = D

On Sunday I saw 38 Special(lame show), Bret Michaels(surprisingly good), Lynyrd Skynyrd(decent for some phonies).

On Monday I saw Pepper(pretty good, lots of No Shame), 311(best concert I've been to)

For 311 the crowd was going crazy, most everyone was drunk. I was mostly sober, but was still jumping around and dancing like a crazy person.

Picked up Isis' The Red Sea EP on vinyl today, while browsing the only store here that has anything resembling a semi-okay selection of music. I knew their earlier stuff was a lot different from their later, but whoa, this is almost like a completely different band (not in a bad way though, it's quite good).

I was just at a 4th of July festival in Blue Ash, Ohio (the "Red, White and Blue Ash") and Yes and Peter Frampton both played concerts there. They both put on some pretty stellar performances...although I was sunburnt and on the verge of heatstroke down there (it was the 1st day of the heatwave that's been going on in Cincy among other places) I really had a pretty awesome time. :)

While I was at this festival/concert, I bought a Yes t-shirt...the shirt was a steep US$35, but it was still worth it!

Finally I got the chance to see a Yes concert :D now if only Lights Poxleitner would come and do a show in Cincy....

You know the end is near when a joke band is more popular than any actual metal band.

Just bought Deathspell Omega's Fas – Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternum LP on eBay for about thirty USD, but I had some saved up eBay 'points' so, really, I didn't pay anything for it. Also, I only found the LP one other time and it was a lot more expensive, so I think I got a pretty good deal (especially since I didn't really pay for it anyway).

Anyone here much a fan of Skillet? I recently discovered them, and thus far, all the songs I've heard I greatly enjoy. Funnily enough, I wiki'd them and discovered they are a "Christian Rock" band. I was totally flabbergasted. I had not a single inclination to think they would be, though now that I know that, some of their songs make more sense/have deeper meaning then I originally gave them. Even more surprising, is I don't really care, which is funny since I tend to stay away from any music with the label "Christian" on it. I guess it's because they don't shove it down your throat, kind of like P.O.D. doesn't.

I don't quite know, actually. I don't have an eBay account, so I use my mother's if I need to buy something from there. Apparently, she gets 'points' (read: money) that she can use for purchases whenever she sells and item or something.

It's Ebay Bucks, and you get them for every purchase(and during some special promotions, when you sell items). it's something around 1% of every purchase you make is calculated, and then giving to you as Ebay bucks. So if you buy a 10 dollar item, You get 10 cents(I think it's a bit more then 1%, but I rarely pay attention).
