This thread and the metal thread have been going for a hell of a long time. The Electronic and Classical ones pop up now and again. And occasionally others will too, music is a big part of a lot of people's lives, but it varies so much, it does help to split it up a little. It can't bother you that much that's there's number of music threads?

I love those albums.

I wish I could get the LPs, but I have nothing to play them on at the moment (hopefully that will change sometime).

Just got up early to go buy some concert tickets for a band, I haven't seen in a good ten years or so live. So totally hyped for it.

Also ordered online, one of their exclusive T's that will only be available from now till the end of the concert. It's gonna be pretty sweet, sporting that T. :P

Picked up Electric Wizards' self-titled today, bit expensive (£13), but hell, this first song alone has justified it. I love me some EW

EDIT:

And tell me about it, I've been meaning to buy some of GS!BEs music for a while, but I never have the money really and just end up listening to it for hours on youtube, which clearly doesn't do it justice. The albums should get here tomorrow. Got them from normanrecords.com if anybody wants to know, they're about £12 each, £3 P&P.

You're parents are the best. Enjoy those. That's some of the most beautiful music ever.

I've been listening to lots of electronic type music lately. So these are the CDs I've gotten:

Bassnectar - Timestretch
Bonobo - Black Sands
Bonobo - Days to Come

And then this other band that I'd say is "progressive-punk" called the RX Bandits has been my current obsession. So I bought:

RX Bandits - ...and the Battle Begun
RX Bandits - The Resignation
RX Bandits - Mandala

So yeah, I've been doing some good listening lately! :goodjob:

All I've got are the CDs. :sadvaultboy: I have no record player. I've seen the packaging though, and it does indeed seem to be wonderful.

In other news. Some far off relative decided to send me an iTunes gift card for a graduation present, which is nice, I suppose, seeing as how I could probably count the number of times I've met them on one hand. Problem is, everyone seems to know I love music, but nobody seems to know I hate downloading music..

So, contrary to my previous post, I have now bought myself a vinyl player. Now, it's time to get working on that huge list of LPs I've had going.

Anyone here know any good sites for buying LPs (or even just music in general, though preferably vinyls)? I'll likely keep getting a lot of my music from Amazon, but I was wondering if there are any better sites that are just dedicated to music. Oh, and buying anything locally is a lost cause. My city doesn't even have a single music store (for buying music, not instruments and the like -- we have those). Not a one! I hate it so much.

For starters, you could try Tower Records. (http://www.tower.com/surf/explore/division_2.cfm) Just put "Vinyl" behind the band or album, and it should come up if the group has put it on vinyl. And good for you going vinyl, most of my stuff is Vinyl, and about twenty percent is CDs. Just make sure you don't warp them, I've kept mine in pretty nice shape, and never had them warped.
