Recieved a call from"Bethesda"

Post » Tue Jan 21, 2014 10:09 pm

So i just got a call from Maryland. Claiming that it was Bethesda and they need my billing info to get an early copy of the game. I told them i need proof and to email me if it is true.(Which i doubt) How can i report this to Zenimax?

Edit: I just found a trojan on my computer. Also, i went to Zenimax's website and searched for there phone number. It was the same one that called me. The hell is going on?

Just like that.

Forward this to a Mod. (Rohugh, Summer, etc.) and they'll take care of the rest. Did you get any info off of the mysterious caller? First issue of concern should have been that it was "Bethesda" calling since they aren't making the game, only publishing it. BUt if Bethesda is to track this down, they're going to need something to work with.

Just report your initial post so it gets highlighted for a mod to see, though I'm sure we will see Talaran or another mod in here soon anyhow =P

You could also go to Zenimax's main website and send them an E-mail directly.

I have noted this for the ZOS Team.

Folks, never give your billing information or personal information to anyone who calls you out of the blue. If you ever have doubts about the validity of someone calling you, ask for a number to call them back. Any legitimate business would have no problem honoring this request. Also don't ask them to send you an email, that will just put a trojan program on your machine that will tell them all the personal information that they need.

I'll share this information with folks on our team to investigate. As our moderators stated, don't provide credit card information in situations like the one you mentioned.
