In the readme is linked a neat mod one of my testers used to advance a new character to the MQ finished point safely. If that interests you. :foodndrink:

So it's finally released! Congratulations to the entire team, I'm sure it has been one hell of a ride ;)

I do have one question though, the bugtracker mentions that this mod is incompatible with servant of the dawn. In what sense? Just story-wise or are we looking at some pretty hard in-game conflicts like SotD breaking RST stuff and the other way around? The reason I'm asking this is because I'd rather not mess around with my LO too much and I don't like rebuilding my bashed patch in the middle of the game for whatever reason. I realize the mods are not compatible story-wise, but if I can keep SotD active in my LO that would be really great. Currently playing a good character anyways so I can just opt to kill them off at the end of the MQ :)

Assuming there are no conflicts with SotD, I'm just going to be throwing this mod in my LO. Most of the mods I'm running don't seem to need any patches or already have patches. Only BC seems to be in the way, but if that's all: /care :P

SotD is diametrically opposed to RST. There are some location conflicts, and running thru both quest lines at the same time would just seem REALLY odd...... DR didn't worry about it over much. You cannot be in the Mythic Dawn, AND a Blade, at the same time....... Sorry 'bout that.

Does this support Oblivion XP?

I haven't been able to find anything one way or the other...

It doesn't conflict with Oblivion XP but no special measures were taken to interact with Oblivion XP :)

Oh really, I'm gonna have to check it out. I first started playing on the 360 and got all the way tot he point where you are fighting to protect Martin at the Bruma big gate But the A hole keeps dying because monsters keep swarming around him. On the PC I hadn't touched the main quest yet. I was too busy playing all the awesome mods.

That means quests don't give experience when completed. That may not be a problem if there's enough of everything else (combat is the majority of experience) to make up for it.

Well, as I said, I don't intent to play as a Mythic Dawn member with my current character, but I'd rather not touch my bashed patch when I don't have to (deactivate SotD = have to rebuild patch). So for now SotD will remain active in my load order. Besides, SotD offers a choice to join or refuse to join. Refusing to join will turn the members of the shrine hostile and it instantly stops the SotD quest, which is perfect for my current character :)

If I encounter a really bad location conflict I can sort them out myself in the CS, not going to nag you guys about that hehe, don't worry ;)

Thanks for the response!

Adding RST should mean rebuilding your bashed patch as well. I don't see what the big deal is.

I would assume that the big deal is if you play more than one character at a time, and one's a Blade and another's in the Dawn. Swapping between characters would then involve a good deal more than loading a different save.

There are plenty of everything else to make up for it. Lots and lots of interesting new content including enemies, books, locations and the like. Even without experience with quests you will probably go up at least a level or two. I recommend reading the books you encounter, it really adds depth to the back story and makes playing the expansion more realistic and interesting.

Solved easily enough by having a second patch and using the load order profiles. Thing is though, SotD has more than just story conflicts as I recall. I'm pretty sure it modifies Cloud Ruler as well as a few other places involved with RST.

SotD doesn't directly touch CRT as far as I know. It only places some NPCs but they're only enabled when reaching certain stages in the SotD main quest. One I won't be playing anyways. As for other edits... mhm Kvatch gate area, Blankenmarch (again activated by quest stages), some dungeon southeast of Leyawiin, Fort Oldanwor which is next to the KOTN priory, Ipsumali West of Chorrol and some small temple far up in the jerall mountains. For an old mod SotD is rather friendly in terms of compatibility.

If I run into any serious issues I will disable SotD and rebuild my patch, but if there really isn't any reason to do so, then meh :P

I never thought of using a second patch by the way, that's a good idea Arthmoor, thank you for that. Will most certainly come in handy! ;)

Been awhile since I tried SoTD so I don't remember everywhere it touches, but I do know that eventually as part of it's quest line, Cloud Ruler is involved. I recall having gotten up to about that point and being unable to advance for some reason and eventually just giving up on the mod.

Still having trouble finding xanir (Yes, I know that isn't his real name, I'm not looking for someone named xanir)
Does he have his own place, or does he wander the waterfront 24/7?

I found him just outside the stone fenced in area where you meet Armand for the various thieves guild quests.

Big big congratulations on your release Rider.

After all these months and years, you have accomplished and sticked to your project from the beginning until the end. For a project of this size, it is something that is not often seen on the modding scene. And for this I congratulate you, and Echo, and WhoGuru, and WillieSea, and Windmill Tilter and Insanity Sorrow and everyone else who contributed. :celebration:

A new addition welcomed warmly in Oblivion's must-have quest mods.

Cliff signing off. :goodjob:

Amazing mod, the quests are extremely well written. I think I may have missed something, I'm supposed to find a ghost near the coast guard station and I know I'm supposed to get their attention, but I have no idea how.
