Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:00 am

:woot: Update: Gearing up for release before too long the main section of the RST Project Forum is now open to the public: http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/forum/31-sancre-tor-project/ over the weeks to come we'll be posting some more developer tidbits, sneak peeks, and fun stuff to the visitors area so check back often for updates, news and more. When RST releases, we will open the rest of the forum up for sight seers to poke around in our dev room, hidden gallery, and testing hall. This means it's close kids...

I got in line for this one a long time ago and have had no problem with waiting here while the final testing and polishing continued. :whistling:

I can easily second this based on the very early locations-only beta I participated in last year.

There are some Retexed/Resource based creatures, and also a few new ones that haven't been seen before. :goodjob:

Cool! Hope that there are no spiders. I am arachnophobe, a big one. Still thinking how to avoid those biggies in TES V Skyrim :(
Also, I am a bit curious about new towns...if that is not classified, can we expect addition of a major citiy in Skyrim?

The only major "city" in RST is Sancre Tor itself. The other towns/villages are located across Cyrodiil and in new worlds, but you can expect some Skyrim flavor in the lost mountain pass of Gothcorga, where the ice caves will keep you running in circles for days.

Oh, that was kinda spoilerish...Wow, ice caves, mountain passes, ST as a functional city - that's more than awesome! Bethesda should give you a job...if they already did not ;)

Nah, not really spoilerish, the ice caves were unveiled back in 2009, it's just been lost to the thread pruner. :lmao: Good questions. :)

In my current 200+ hr game, I have not started the MQ yet (I have only delivered Martin to Jauffre once in all my previous characters, even though I have been playing the game since 2006).

Does RST affect the main quest in any way? Would you recommend that I hold off starting the MQ to get the maximum out of RST?

No, RST does not affect the main quest, it picks up where the vanilla MQ leaves off and continues the story then from the perspective of the Blades. Some folks have already finished the MQ and are waiting to start RST, others are waiting to start the MQ until after RST releases and the mod will work technically, either way. That said, I suspect those waiting to start the MQ and playing through RST as they finish will probably have the best experience only because the characters and momentum of the story will still be intact as you go into RST, so for that reason I'd recommend starting the MQ fresh as RST is added to the load order and playing through.

I'm halfway through lol. I don't want to start again as the MQ is one of my least favourite parts lol. I'm at the bit where i have to get teh armour from Sancre Tor for Martin, is this point ok?? Or would you still recommend a restart??

You're good either way, my recommend is just opinion based on timing, for example, if the player finished the main quest a year ago, and then picks it up to play RST, it will work just fine but they might not catch all the connections to the MQ because the story/characters/locations might be rusty for them. Since you are still in play in the MQ, you should be fine starting from where you are. :goodjob:

:twirl: Update: Just passed Beta version 0.0.7 to the testers, hoping the bugs in this section will be small, I've tested it quite a bit already seems stable but fingers crossed. Never know once you toss in the varying load orders. Testers will likely chew through this over the weekend, my goal is to fix as they report and have 0.0.8 out next week at some point if all goes well.

Those two mods have un-patcheable conflicts. RST will not function properly with Servant of the Dawn in the same save/load order. That's one of the few conflicts that can't be resolved.

 Like the Blades would say, 'you're one of the guys who killed the Emperor? Suuuure! Join up! We could use you" For target practice maybe.
