Recommend a Mod "Package"?

So, this is awkward.

I love the Elder Scrolls games, I especially love them Modded. I've recently re-installed Morrowind along with the MGO and applied that, but I still don't feel like I'm getting the true "experience".

I run Skyrim with things like Frostfall and Realistic Needs and Diseases...lacking that sort of thing in Morrowind is more jarring then I figured it would be.

The thing is, Morrowind is old enough that the mod community for it is...daunting. Also there's the fact I myself am a Mod layperson in regards to load order and the like - I use Nexus Mod Manager to sort Mod Load Orders, but the Nexus page for Morrowind is depressingly bare for the things I know are available.

What I'm asking for is help. Help in both finding the right kinds of mods I want (As there are a lot of mods out there - some more supported then others), and help in making sure I install them correctly (Mostly load order issues here, since I understand the unpackaging process...mostly).

Right now I'm looking for something that adds needs into the game. Needs, Food...not so much Frostfall per say, but...life. Life to an otherwise static world. I know I'm being vague, but I'm not sure what I want, really. There's so many choices.

Hi,

to deal with much of load order issues, download latest Mlox (there is it's thread somewhere around). It can sort your load order and also point out some possible errors with your mod configuration.

For needs in game, the most common is Necessities of Morrowind. AFAIK, you will need to eat, drink and sleep with the mod. It can cause a lot of incompatibilities, though, as it adds new food shops etc. Then there should be something a bit simplier - Basic Needs perhaps?

"Life to an otherwise static world"... well, this is a tough one. If you are looking for something that would make NPCs have daily shedules or even travel between towns, I will have to disappoint you mostly. There are some mods (Living cities of Vvardenfell), but it will probably not look as in Skyrim, as in Morrowind NPCs cannot pass through teleport doors (i.e. from exterior to interior and vice versa), so they will teleport instead. There is also mod that adds travellers to roads between cities that actually go from one town to another. I think it is called Travelling Merchants.

Well, I hope this will help a bit and do not hesitate to ask about whatever you need :)

Much appreciated. Both for load order help, and the recommendations. Necessities of Morrowind sound right up my alley (As I'm not really in the market to expand on what's already in the game), and Traveling Merchants will add the "life" I require. Just seeing someone else on the road, ya know?

There really is only one "mod package" for Morrowind, and that would be MGSO, which just focuses on textures/sounds/trees and a few small additions.

For everything else, you really need to find what suits you. The "true experience" is different for everyone, so there are no "best" mods that you need
MMH is where the majority of everything is hosted now that PES is gone: http://mw.modhistory.com/

The Nexus Mod Manager is not that good for Morrowind. I wouldn't use it.

The aforementioned Mlox is great for helping you, and learn how to use Wrye Mash to keep your modded game healthy.

This has some more links to explore, and helpful info, including some "Recommended mods lists" to browse. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1305729-mod-recommendations-for-new-players/

And as Reaper suggests, it sounds like you might really enjoy NoM.http://mw.modhistory.com/download-53-12114
