Recommended PC Requirements (Can I run it?)

Post » Mon Dec 07, 2015 7:51 am

Hi guys!

I am currently running on a pc dating back from 2009.

Specs:

GPU: AMD Radeon 6850 HD

CPU: i5 2400 3.1. GHz

RAM: 4.1 GB

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1

Is it possible for me to run Fallout 4? If not, what should I upgrade and where to should I upgrade it?

I do not want to buy a new pc because I think thats pointless.

So what would be the minimal requirements for atleast playing the game on Normal GFX without dealing with any lags at all?

Thanks for reading.

My workstation at home is designed for CAD and gaming. My electric bill showed it. I bought an XBOX 360 for gaming. My workstation 1000W power supply uses 12-15.8A to get 1000W DC for gaming. It required a 20A circuit for the power supply. I has a 20A cord. I would spend $800 a year just on video adapters. My Xbox 360 solved this spending problem. It plays my games. I have had it 3 years. So $2400 in video adapter spending gone. Cut my electric bill $50 a month in gaming. I tell parents not to build expensive gaming computers. Get a Xbox or Playstation instead. Skyrim plays great on my Xbox 360 with the hard drive. I bought a good $40 cooler for it. Skyrim plays great on my 360. I can't mod it. I am at Level 125 and having fun still.

Without knowing the requirements can't say for sure.. though I'd be a little concerned with your RAM. My estimate would be around 6-8Gigs of RAM. (Both consoles it is being designed to run on have 8Gigs)

Is your OS 32 or 64 bit ?

You should be able to play it. I will probably have to upgrade it, but we need to wait for the requirements.

If you can play Skyrim you should be fine. I might add some RAM, as suggested above.

Yeah, I thought about adding some RAM. But by hearing this I will purchase some new RAM for sure.

I'm running 64 bit on my PC

Might want some ram, and idk, we don't know the requirements.

Your graphic card is 1 gig right? Most games seem to recommend 2, but eh, you might still be fine.

Can you increase your RAM? That's going to be an issue if you turn any graphic 'bells and whistles' on (like AA, Shadows, etc.).

kk.. was just asking about the OS, since you were currently sitting on 4Gig RAM. And you couldn't get any more with a 32bit OS.. but looks like your good there. :)

I would not run any game with less than eight gigs of ram.

You should use current console hardware as the general requirement.

In all honesty, you definitely need to upgrade your GPU and RAM. Your CPU is likely adequate.

You shouldn't have less than 8GB of RAM. Your GPU is four years old, so I'd get something a bit more recent.

With your current RIG, I don't believe you will be able to play Fallout 4, let alone run it. This game will be a lot more demanding than Skyrim, which was built to run on ten year-old console hardware.

I did a quick Google search and I just seen some speculative topics on the Fallout 4 system requirements. I did not see anything concrete.

Those aren't official system requirements, merely approximations. Typically game developers will not release system requirements for their game until four weeks before release. The reasoning behind this is because optimization and graphical tweaking are generally one of the last aspects to be completed in game development. Again, the best measure for what kind of hardware one should have for Fallout 4 is the current generation consoles.

What redguard king said.

It's best to see something officially from Bethesda regarding what the requirements will be.

ahh sorry. When I read back of box I thought it actually was correct. Anyway, I far exceed what they have listed there.

I am just hoping Windows 10 can run it. I just upgraded from 8.1 to 10 because my computer kept pestering me to do so, but have been having issues with both FO3 and NV now.

Looking forward to the shadowing, and water and Blue skies though as well as the skyline at night (thats generally how I determine how well my computer is handling the game)

That's OK my friend asking is one reason these forums exist.

You could be having issue with fallout 3 and NV due to an issue with upgrading your OS. You could ask in the community tech thread about issues with that. I am not well versed on the subject of software and I am on my phone so I cannot link you to the appropriate thread.

THats okay. Ive managed to get NV more or less stable now.. but its not my favorite FO (generally because its just lots and lots of mountains I cant pass and rocks.. lots of rocks) and funnily enough FO1 is working without ANY need to modify any files. It just runs which I find amusing.

If I see one of those sale boxes for FO4 at my local store Ill check it out for pc specs and post them here so other people can know. Generally they turn up 2-3 months before the game is out so it shouldnt be long now.
