I tried recording Fallout gameplay with Fraps, but all I get is a gray screen when I try to watch the video.

Any help would be appreciated.

You won't get fraps to record it for reasons i dont have time to explain right now ... Try Camtasia, worked for me. I use Camtasia Studio 6.

Camtasia Studio is $300 dollors a pop... skip that and get Xfire, it has a built in screen capture with live sound and the codec can be used by many editing programs. i dont know of any other nice screen capture programs that wont cost you a lot of money.
