Recording frags

Post » Wed Aug 31, 2011 2:29 pm

Okok, maybe I'm new to these programmes. I found that frame rate drops dramatically when I record my gameplay using Fraps. Is that normal for low-end PC like mine? I want the answer :O

Ps: i5-450M, GeForce GT335M + 1GB cuda, 4GB Ram

Make sure your VSync is turned off and maybe record at a lower resolution.

Yea...thats my "eternal" problem as well..
FPS drop from 80+ to 25-30 when recording with fraps..
And that is with a "high"-end system of I7-SLI-6GB RAM.
Thats why i havent got any footage yet.

Someone told me here that recording to a secondary HDD
and not in the one that Windows-Crysis is installed helps a bit.
Also record at "half resolution".
Anyway its impossible for me yet to make something decent due to my crap gameplay at 25-30 fps...
i mean i can hardly aim at those FPS.

Remember to record in half-mode!

exactly the same prob here ;)
430m, nvidia 360m, 4gig, so allmost the same! fraps drop my fps from 70/60 to 30/28
xfire and other recording programs do NOT!
use xfire and OTHER recording programs!

Use WeGame to record your videos then. The Quality is not as good as FRAPS but decent enough and also outputs a smaller compressed size and the best part is almost no framerate hit at all.

Try with MSI Afterburner, is more stable than Fraps and it's free.

MSI Afterburner doesn't work for me. Video is stuttery, sound in scrambled, svcks, WeGame is the best alternative, but I use Fraps anyways recording @ ~40-50 FPS .

If you do record gameplay be sure to check out my Crysis 2 top 5 Series. I just uploaded Episode 2!
