recovering activation?

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 6:03 am

Hey folks,

When I installed Crysis 2 I entered a code that was one-time-only to activate the game, yes? If I need to format or reinstall this PC what can I do to recover this code so that I can install the game again?

There were two codes involved.

First: Multiplayer/SolidShield code. (5 sets of 4 characters)
This code is used to unlock the game through TAGES Solidshield. You can re-claim an activation by running "Activation.exe" in ..\crysis 2\bin32
You get five activations, and the program will tell you how many you have used.

Second: Limited Edition DLC Code (4 sets of 4)
This code is used to give your mutliplayer account that you created on gamesas.com the Limited Edition bonuses including a 5-level XP boost and a platinum dog tag. You do not need to do anything with this outside of making sure you log in to the gamesas account that it is tied to.

(EA support is a little messy to figure out.)

I am asking if there is something registering the game that I will lose if i format..

And about this 4 characters on 5 accounts or whatever... am I ok to just keep using the one account over and over? If I delete characters and make a hundred new ones will I be able to keep access to the content?

Please folks, explain how these three things work.

thanks.

:) aside from that any other options?

I have three codes:

One on back of manual.
One for limited edition stuff
Another one for multi-player that adds something I am not familiar with.

What do I need to do to have all those on a fresh PC install?

1. If you uninstall the game before reformatting you won't lose an activation. The deauthorizing process is combined with the uninstalling so you don't need to worry about missing it.
2. If you reformat without uninstalling the game the servers will still think the game is activated somewhere and you will lose one of your activations.
3. Your multiplayer unlocks are saved to whatever gamesas account you used to register and will be available from wherever you login from on that account.
