Red Dawn-The Russian Colonization of America

Prolouge:

SS-9967 stalks the waters of the Pacific, lone in the world, the submarine sails on. It belongs to the Russian Navy. Russia, and most of Europe, still stands. Many cities remain destroyed, but are rebuilt. The European Union is organized to prevent further war. But still, war remains. Tribals who deny the authority of the EU are crushed swiftly. Africa is never explored, in a Nuclear wasteland, the area that was once deathly desert inhabited with many nomads is inhabited by few nomads, and most creatures in it are dogs, adapted to the desert. The equatorial Africa is a jungle of all sorts of mutants. No one dares to go in, because whoever goes in, doesn't come back out....The Middle East remains war torn, tribals fighting over the remnants of the cities. City states like The Order of the Knights of Jerusalem. A faction that remains mainly in Iran, Pakistan, parts of Iraq, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are united under the "Middle Eastern Alliance". China is in nuclear ruins, Beijing is a smoldering ruins. North Korea is no better, South Korea invaded the North just days after The Great War, without China's backing, there was nothing to defend North Korea from the South's onslaught. The North Americas fared no better than China. Nuclear devices were set off in most cities, millions died. America is smoldering ruins, it is considered worse than China is. The Russians have initiated "Operation Red October" to scout, and repopulate The Americas. Other EU nations like Italy, Spain, and England also sent men. Spain got to the Cuban and The Caribbean, the English got Eastern US, and Italians got Canada, or so it was planned. Russia was to get Western Americas, which included Vancouver, Seattle, Tijuana, and others. Soon, America will be greeted by a landing force of about seven-hundred Russian troopers will come to the shores of California.

Private Dimitri Ivanov-Third Army Corps-Kalingrad Class Landing Craft-April 2, 2300.

I walked around the wooden deck of the Kuzenetsov, the blue skies and bright sun lighting up the day. I was a mere Private in the Red Army, was part of the Third Army Corps, a Corps chosen by the Kremlin to go to the Former America and set up colonies.

"Hello Dimitri!" Said Ivan Mikhailov, a fellow solider

"Ivan!" I said back, Ivan was one of my only friends.

"Dimitri, apparently, we are right off the coast of America. See?" Ivan said, He pointed to the east. I saw small little towers pointing out of the coastline. "Apparently, that's 'Los Angeles'. A Pre-War City."

I looked in amazement, I could only stare at the city. "When will we get there?" I said finally.

"I don't know, either tonight or tomorrow morning." Ivan said, he then started to walk off, probably to find the SCO of our expedition. I walked over to the stairs that led down into the ship. I walked down them, and to where we troops slept. I climbed in my bunk, and drifted to sleep. I awoke two hours later, It was night fall now. I picked up my rifle, which was a Mosin Nagant, and started cleaning it. More of the men poured back into their bunks. I couldn't wait until we landed on the shores of America. I hoped I would be the first person to step foot on the soil. I laid back down, dreaming of the Americas.

Nice, nice. Was kind of disappointed in your last fanfic, ending wise, but eh. My opinion is not that important anyhow. Anyway, on to the story.

It's good, a great start to a unique fanfic. Now then. I think you should space out the prologue a bit, the first part, the one with the overview. It's a little too blocky for me and thus makes it hard to read, but other than that...The pictures, what I would have done is hyper linked them when they came up in the story, so the reader could see right when he read it and doesn't have to go searching for them in case he forgets, like what Scholar does with his fanfics.

Other than that, I think I spot something. Or more accurately, don't spot something. But I'll wait until you finish your first chapter before offering further more criticism. I have already offered much before too, in case you forget some of the things I say( don't worry, even I forget what I say most of the time.)

At any rate, keep it up.

Good Luck.

I live in America now. I know, I wanted to have the main character look like Christoph Waltz, but thats too low for him, So i made him Commissar.

Chapter One-
--------------------------------------
PART ONE:
--------------------------------------
Kuzenetsov-April 3, 2300-Morning:

I woke up from a thunderous stomping, most of the men were being filed out up top. I quickly grabbed my Mosin Nagant, slipped my boots on, grabbed my pack, which was filled with food, water, my Journal, a fork, and a wooden cup. I ran out of the bunk and slammed into the Commissar, Nikolai Tarkov

"Excuse me PRIVATE?" barked Nikolai

"sorry sir!" I yelped

"Nevermind, GET TO THE TOP DECK!" He screamed and continued on. I ran up the flight of wooden stairs. Ivan stood next to me

"Psst, Dimitri, We are going to Los Angeles!" He whispered, clearly happy. I stood in silence. Soon, The Commissar came back up. Soon, He started to speak

"Okay men, as you probably have already guessed, we are going to the American shores. We are to scout, report, and come back, nothing more, nothing less. Understand?" The Commissar ordered us

"YES SIR!" We barked in unison. The commissar ordered us to board a few wooden row boats, and we did

"GOOD LUCK!" He said as we dropped into the water, headed to the New World....
-------------------------------------
The U (California State University):

The raiders ran around the building, they weren't the only group, but they had a good position. The closest NCR outpost was miles away. They had it good in The U, until now. The NCR was using old Pre-War cars as scout and patrol cars, the Raiders around the city could destroy them with RPG's, AK-47s, or any shot to the tire, or driver. But the NCR sent more men, which was a mixed blessing, no NCR troops ever went into the city other than patrolling. The U had ruined cars built as a wall around the building. The raiders were always under siege by other raider groups wanting to take it over. They would soon be greeted with much more than the NCR or fellow raiders....

Chapter One-Part Two
-----------------
Blood and Iron
-----------------
10:30 AM-

My boat was one of ten in the small row boat armada. It was all fine until we reached a beach head. We saw a rocket blast, and one of the ships was hit. The ship sunk to the bottom. I then heard the infamous clapping of a machine gun. Men in the other boats were killed. Ivan dove infront of me as bullets rained into our boat.

"IVAN!" I screamed as he was shot. He reached his hand up to my head, and started feeling around, touching my face.

"Dimitri..." He managed to get out, blood was all over his uniform. He started spitting out blood. I was horrified. My friend, dying in my arms, and I could not do anything. "Dimitri...do me a favor...." He whispered in my ear

"What is it?" I begged him

"Take this...." He pulled out a picture of me and him infront of the Kuzenetsov when we were back in Vladivostok. "Keep it..remember me...." He said his last words, and died.

"Ivan! Ivan! IVAN!" I screamed. It was in vain. He was dead. I hid under the bodies of the dead. The boat glided over the water. I peered out from a small hole in the boat's side. I saw blood in the water

"Mein Gott!" exclaimed a man behind me

"What the hell?" I mumbled. The man, who was laying on his back. It was a German, one of the expeditionary men sent by other EU countries.

"Was, geht Russisch weiter?" The German said, gripping his Kar-98-k

"Damn it, shut up, and stay down!" I said, clearly, he understood. He kept down. I waited for about Ten minutes.

Then, I felt a

Crash
---------------------------
10:50 AM-

The German and I got out of the boat. We both exchanged looks, and I started walking. He took off his helmet, wiped his forehead with his hand. We were both tired, I sat down on the sand. The cargo ship was no where in sight. The German turned to me

"Schau mal, Herr, seien Sie nicht Bitte ein gro?es Tier. Ich will leben! Ich habe eine Frau, und Kinder!" He said to me, he pulled out a picture of him, a woman, and three kids.

"Look, I have a girlfriend at Moscow! I want to be home too." I said to him. He grew impatient

"Ich verstehe Sie nicht! Sprechen Sie Deutsch?" He begged to me. He pulled out a flag of Germany. He pointed to it, then pointed to him mimicking to talk

"No, I cannot talk German." I shook my head. He frowned

"Verdammen Sie es!" He cursed. He put a smoke in his mouth, and lit it with a old lighter. He pulled one out, and threw it to me.

"Licht?" He said, pointing to the lit lighter. I nodded my head. He smiled, he reached for the cigarette, and lit it. I grabbed it and started smoking it. I smiled, he may not speak my language, but he atleast trusted me.

"Wie ist Ihr heisse? Meinig ist Christoph." He said, pointing to himself. I assumed he was talking about what his name was

"I am Dimitri." I said, pointing to me.

"Wir sollten auf die Beine bringen." He said. He pointed to his feet, pretending to walk.

"Yes." I said, and we started walking into the city of Los Angeles.

Part Three:

The Ruins
------------
The German and I walked closer to the city. It was miles away. But we could even see the Skyscraqers, we saw the machine guns, laying abandoned in old beach homes.

"Ich glaube, dass das ist, wo die Maschinenkanonier-M?nner waren." The German said as we walked inside one of the homes.

"Quiet." I put my index finger over my mouth. He nodded. I heard a footstep. The German raised his Kar-98 and I raised my Mosin. Two raiders ran down, wielding machetes.

"Die M?rder! T?ten Sie sie!" Screamed the German. He fired a shot from his rifle. Next thing I knew, a raider was reaching at his chest. The other one jumped at me, knocking me to the ground "T?TEN SIE MEINEN FREUND NICHT!" Hollered the German, hitting the raider in the head with the butt of his gun."STERBEN SIE SIE WERTLOSES STüCK DER SCHEI?E!" The German screamed again, beating the raider again and again in the face and chest with his rifle.

"DON'T KILL ME!" The raider screamed. The German kept beating him again and again, he ignored the cries of agony from the raider. The raider, soon, died. His head bursting open from the constant beating.

"Verdammte Ratte!" The German spat on the body. I could only stare. He shot at the other raider.

"Ein anderer raider, ein anderer Tod." He said to me. He walked up the steps "Sie die Ankunft?" He said to me. I walked up the stairs. The stories they could tell. Once we reached the top. We heard a shriek."Was zum Teufel?" The German said with confusion. He looked around

"HELP ME!" I heard from a room

"Ein M?dchen? Was geht hier weiter?" The German said. I pushed him out of the way and ran to the room. There stood a raider and a girl. The girl tied to the bed.

"You! I though-" The raider uttered.

"STERBEN SIE!" screamed the German, shooting the raider in the head

"Nice shot, Christoph." I said to him. Then walking to the girl. She spoke English, and I didn't.

"Who the hell are you?" I asked her, she looked confused

"What are you talking? Some gibberish. Are you high?" She spoke, she reached for a gun. The German shot her

"ZUM TEUFEL MIT IHNEN!" He screamed, shooting a second time. The girl was lying dead on the bed. The German stepped into a room with a smashed circlular window. I saw a HMG and thousands upon thousands of empty bullet cases."Hei? Verdammt!" The German said. I could only stare. I started down the stairs, the man following closly behind me. We walked out of the house and walked closer to the city.

"Lets go, shall we?" I said with a grin.

Chapter Two:

Part one:

The City of LA
----------------------------
We continued to walk into the city. Sand turned into blackend ground. The http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_oIAhQMTG-dU/S-QkQj1UjiI/AAAAAAAAEug/a_J6tcWzWag/s1600/german-soldiers-wehrmacht-ww2-second-world-war-color-pictures-history-pictures-illustrated-001.jpg kept silent, fearing raiders. Soon, he opened his mouth.

"Das muss sein, dass Stadt sie darüber sprachen." He said to me. Then turning back, watching the sky fade away under the tall buildings.

"Heilige Schei?e! Diejenigen müssen Tausende von hohen Metern sein!" He exclaimed, staring at the buildings. I shushed him, fearing a ambush. I heard some footsteps, and stopped dead in my tracks.

"Was zum Teufel weitergeht? Ist es der raiders wieder?" He mumbled to me. I shushed him again. I heard them saying things in English. A patrol of them walked into the streets, I could only see them through the deathly darkness by a torch they carried. I could see by the orange and yellow light a two headed bear on their uniforms

"These ain't no girl scouts." I said under my breath. The German stared at the men, he knew as well as I did shooting them would be a death wish.

"Gott, mit uns sein!" The German mumbled. He was clearly scared. The men carried http://www.offthemall.com/Military/general/M1%20carbine,%20right%20side.jpg, a weapon used by the French, how they got it, was beyond me. Some had http://thecornerarsenal.com/catalog/images/DSC02690.JPG slung over their shoulders. I swore one turned and saw me. But they went on, going to the shore. I motioned for the German to follow me. He kept a short pace behind me. We entered a clearing, where a building had collapsed. It was still dark, but a little light got through. I saw a metro leading down.

"Verdammt! Schauen Sie darauf! Wie kamen die Soldaten durch?" The German said as he peered around my body. We heard some gunshots coming from behind. I ran as fast as I could to the metro, the German following closly behind me. I rolled down the marble steps down into the metro, The German running in. We both closed a gate, sealing us in.

"Ich frage mich, ob es einen Soldat, oder Soldaten hier unten gibt...." The German said. We looked into the darkness of the Metro.

Chapter Two:

Part Two:

The Bear
---------------------------
11:10 AM:

We stormed through the Metro, we soon reached another station opening. We found people, about twenty of them, all scattered around. Many were scared, most were wounded. The German looked at them.

"Arme Bastarde. Was geschah mit ihnen?" The German said to me. I saw one girl, she couldn't have been more than fourteen, with her leg blown off. I saw a man, who had to be at least thirty, with his eyes in bandages. I crept down the area, the German tagging behind, we saw a man administering aid to a little girl.

"Herr! Herr! Schau mal, wir müssen helfen. Schnell." The German said, snapping his fingers.

"Wha- What the hell? You speak German!" The man said. He cleared his throat "Ich bin mit den Anh?ngern der Apokalypse, wir helfen Leuten im Bedürfnis im ?dland. Was verlangen Sie?" The man said to the German

"Ah werden wir verloren, wir wissen nicht wo zu gehen. Mein Partner, Dimitri, spricht Russisch, ich kenne Russisch nicht, k?nnen Sie Russisch sprechen?" The German said to him.

"Russisch? Wie spricht er Russisch? Wie sprechen Sie Deutsch?" The man said.

The German replied to the man in a coldy tone "Wir kommen aus Europa."

The man infront of us stumbled back, in shock, his mouth gaping.

"Herzlich willkommen in Amerika, dann.." The man said "Mein Name ist Mark. Ich bin ein Arzt hier, das ist ein Vorposten eines Anh?ngers. Sie sahen wahrscheinlich, dass sich einige M?nner mit zwei angeführt auf ihre Uniformen beziehen, sie sind die Neue Republik von Kalifornien. Sie denken, dass sie die Stadt besitzen. Sie tun nicht."

The man had blood all over his doctor trench-coat. His doctor bag laid open on the ground. He looked like crap. He looked to me.

"Look, I know Russian, see, I'm talking it. I'm going to tell you something I didn't tell your friend. I am one of two doctors running this place. The other one is gone out on a trip to help people in the buildings and other metros. As you can see, this place isn't as good as we could hope. People are starving, bleeding, cold, thirsty. The NCR says they can fix it, they are doing little more than patrolling, keeping raiders out. That just brings in more wounded from NCR Troopers. I can't do it all on my own. Do you have anyone who can help?" The man begged to me

"Look, there might be some survivors, but raiders killed the rest with Machine guns. We were landing off the coast." I replied. He was desperate. "I have some first aid knowledge, but I don't know English."

The man frowned, then smiled "I can teach you. I will tell the German to patrol around the station. Now you wait here." The man walked up the Christoph, told him something in German, then the man walked back.

"Let's learn, shall we?" He said to me. I smiled.
--------------------------
1:30 PM

The man had taught me so much in two short hours.

"You can speak most of the English language now." He said in English "Now help me with patients."

Just as he said that, people came in from the metro main entrance. A girl, who couldn't be more than thirteen, came in with a bleeding arm

"What happened?" I asked her as I checked the wound

"T...The...NCR...they were attacking the raiders. A rocket blast hit my families building. It almost collapsed. Thank god it didn't." She said as I checked her wounds. I then heard a artillery sounding like blast. Then, suddenly, I froze

No...No...They brought the Navy's ships. I thought to myself. I heard a crash from somewhere in the distance. A huge bang and a flash of light erupted somewhere near the coast.

"Kommen Sie herunter!" Christoph hollered. The doctor repeated after him

"GET DOWN!" The doctor hollered, people hit the deck. I ran outside, trying to rush people in. I saw one of the buildings collapse onto the road. Then, the blasts suddenly...stopped.

Part Two:

The Navy Guns
------------------------------
1:35 PM

After the shellling stopped. I stood at the opening of the metro. The light shined in, the girl ran up to me

"What was that?" She said, clearly nervous. She was trembling.

"The Russians." I said, then turning to her wound "That is not for now, we need to get this wound cleaned up."

She looked at me with a scared look "Will it have to come off?" She said to me. I couldn't answer that, it was hard for me

"Maybe, I'll have Mark look it through." I said to her, then I turned to the edge of the top slab of concrete, a wall seperating a fall down to the tracks. "MARK!" I hollered. Mark came running up.

"What?" He asked, anxious to find the answer

"Take this girl, I'm going to check outside." I said to him, I grabbed my rifle, slipped on a helmet, and ran out. He then ran back to me

"Take this." He handed me a medic pouch "For someone...or you." He said, running back inside.

I looked back, then, I heard screaming coming from the west.

"HELP US!" I heard. The collapsd skyscraqer that seperated the road was cut through the middle, a shell had landed, destroying the wreck. I ran through, I saw all around that wreck destroyed things inside that building. I soon reached the other side. I saw a NCR solider, laying on his stomach, on the ground. I grabbed him by the hair, looking at him.

"Poor Bastard." I said, noting at huge gap in his chest. I walked closer, gripping my gun. I saw dead, and wounded NCR troopers. Some had their legs blown off, others had their arms off. Most were just wounded.

"Damn...." was all I could say. The men looked at me with deathly glares. One was not wounded ran up to me.

"Hey, can you help me move these guys?" He asked me

"Sure." I said, I picked up two of the men and dragged them to the Follower's Metro. This time, the other doctor, Mary, had returned with two other Followers. The doctors soon were overwhelmed with wounded. As we dragged the troopers into the hospital, I heard a deafening

WITHHSHH

I froze. The Russians had landed, they were using their moblie rocket launchers

"Was zum Teufel jetzt?" I heard Christoph say, who was standing next to me. Rockets bombarded the area. I heard them land all around, the crashing and buckling of the buildings, everything. I ran in, then running to Mark

"TEACH THE GERMAN ENGLISH! NOW!" I screamed at Mark, he nodded and said

"After the bombarding!"
---------------------------------
2:00 PM

The bombarding stopped around two. Mark started teaching Christoph English as I walked out into L.A. The screams of the brothers and sons cries out against the Russians. The blood spilled that day could never be forgotten. The girl walked behind me, she kept her arm.

"Hey, Mister, thanks for saving me." She said, her black hair almost clean, a trait I haven't seen on most wastelanders

"No Problem." I looked out into the sky, seeing the fires raging.

"Somethings wrong, though. I wish I knew." She said, spitting on the ground. I clenched a dogtag in the palm of my hand. It read:

Private Ivan Mikhaliov SN 90909667

Male

1/19/2280

A+

In my pocket, the picture of me and him lay, I reached into it, and showed it to her

"Thats me." I pointed to the man on the left. "That's Ivan, the other man, he was my best friend."

She frowned "Was? What happened? Did you get into a fight?"

I laughed a little "No, he was killed." She frowned again

"I'm sorry. He had to be a good man." She said. I nodded my head. I looked out, seeing the sun blazing in the afternoon
--------------------------------
LA Beach:

"DAMN IT! THEY ARE AWOL! I WANT THEM BACK HERE NOW!" Barked the Commisar. Men scattered to run around the beach-head. The guns, prepping for another attack.

"NEVERMIND! They, and all those degenetates will be killed by our strikes. Continue the barrages." The Commisar ordered

Chapter Three:

Captured
------------------------------
After the shelling stopped. Christoph and I left the Metro. We bid farewell to Mark and the other Follower's. We continued to work our way into the city. We evaded NCR patrols and Russian Rocket Attacks. But soon, the attacks became too strong. We were resting in a top floor of a skyscraqer when the artillery rang out. The building was hit by rockets, slamming into the side, the building lost stability and collapsed. Thankfully, I survived. Christoph didn't. When the building fell, he was thrown off the side. I found his body smashed onto the pavement.

"CHRISTOPH! CHRISTOPH! NO!" I screamed. His mangled body, smashed on the pavement. I looked at him one final time. I almost cried, my last friend in the world, dead. I ran into the city, but even then, NCR patrols and raiders blocked my way. I soon realized it. I was cornered. No escape. The Russians were my only hope. I ran, I ran, I ran. I ran to the beach. I saw that Commissar

"YOU!" He screamed "Traitor of the Motherland!" He screamed, kicking me in the shins and throwing me on the ground. Two Red Army solders grabbed my arms.

"I'll have you thrown in the Gulag in Siberia and I'll personally melt the key down. But, I digress. I will not, consider yourself lucky." He said, the guards dropped me. A helicopter landed nearby "Shall we?" He said, I nodded and walked in.

---------------------------------
Fifty Years Later-Bar in Berlin, Germany:

Dimitri sat in the bar, he finished his beer, and his story to the young solider in front of him.

"You see?" Dimitri said "I can down it in a minute!"

The German laughed, he smoked his pipe and stared at the man. "Dimitri, what happened after that?" He asked

"Well, Nikolai was sent to Vladivostok as a Internal Guard. I was sent to Moscow to train recruits about the Americas. But, we never went back." Dimitri said to the German "The British had colonies, the French did, the Spanish did. But we didn't."

The German nodded his head. Dimitri sighed

"You remind me of Christoph." Dimitri said to the German "Whats your name?"

The German cleared his throat "Hans." He said. Dimitri smiled

"I wish you luck, Hans, in the future. Take this." Dimitri handed the German Ivan's dogtags, the picture of him, and Ivan, and a piece of rubble from LA "Take good care of them."

"Thank you! I will!" The German said, stuffing them in his coat pocket. Dimitri got up, placed the money he owed on the table, and walked out. He went back to his home and went to sleep. Dimitri died in his sleep at the age of seventy-six. His body was brought back to his hometown, St. Petersburg, and was buried next to his parents. His Tombstone reads:

Dimitri Constance Ivanov
