Red Dead Redemption disscusion

Post » Sat Dec 19, 2009 12:06 pm

OK, so I am pretty sure my dad will lend me some money to buy this game. However, being a PC gamer for a long time, I've gotten unused to joysticks, and I really svck with them when it comes to shooters. Will this game require you to be damn good with joysticks to find it enjoyable?

I doubt it considering that there is a lock-on system for aiming just like in all the GTA games.

Oh, so it is like an auto-aim system?

Thanks, I guess I shouldn't have worries about this game.

I'm most definitely excited for this game. Ever since I heard about it's release that was supposed to be April (too bad, I'd be playing it right now!) I've been siked for this game. I mean, besides some Bethesda games, and other games like Uncharted, AC 2, and some other Ubisoft and Naughty Dog made games, Rockstar games are all I can really handle. They just seem to keep me coming back to them, and that's what I'm really excited for with Red Dead Redemption. The online play looks really cool. Be able to traverse the whole entire map with friends, blowing each other away with cannons and gatling guns, etc. just seems fun.

I wish there'd be a split screen co-op too, like in GTA: San Andreas, because I've got some friends who don't have the money or time to be playing online.

Does anyone know what the pre order rewards are in the UK?

This looks amazing though, its now may, and im ready to travel around the wild west. I havent been on xbox for a while, but this will make me play xnox for the next year. Everything i loved about GTA is in here, and in a more interesting setting than the dark streets of modern day. I would been talking with my friends bout this game, and we've each bet that we can get the highest bounty within a fortnight.

Yeah, there's 3 difficulty levels which Rockstar have told us about. Casual so you automatically move to a target and hold on, Normal for quick move, basically when you press the left trigger, it skips to the nearest target and Expert for complete control over aiming.

It is indeed. You can also free aim as well, but I expect you'll be using the auto-aim most of the time just like in GTA.

Sweet. I'll be able to play with friends that way, and it sounds good for free.

Not to bash the warhorse, but I highly doubt it's the best horse in the game.

Why? I mean yeah, it depends on how you define the best, but it's entirely possible that it trumps every other horse in every area.

Oh thank god for that. Ill definitely play it on expert, cause the autoaim combat in GTAIV is awful. I dont understand why they didnt just use a free aim combat system like in the pc versions of GTA3, VC and SA.

Anyway, ive preordered my copy and the edition they sell here includes all the preorder stuff and the soundtrack. :D
Im getting it for 360, gamertag is in my sig.

12 days.

I'm freaking dying here. I don't think I've ever anticipated a game as much as this one.

Well, it all started as kid, really, cowboys and indians games were pretty popular before games consoles took over our souls. I dont know much historically about it, i only see it in back to the future part 3 and similar movies where the actual political views, famous figures are lightly touched upon. I see it as all "theres a snake in my boot!" or "this town aint big enough for the two of us" shootout at dawn style.

Or the gold rush in the 1800's, we've struck GOLD!!! :ahhh:

That Clint Eastwood westerns are awesome, that Once upon a time in the west is the best western evah, and I love Dances with wolves, both the book and the movie. As far as historical events are concerned, when the wild west is mentioned I mostly think of the struggles between the Natives and the white settlers. I won't go into that further, don't want to derail the thread with such a sensitive subject.

I'm really tempted to buy Red Dead Redemption when it comes out, even though I really can't afford it. It looks great :)

I'm pretty sure it's online co-op, I don't even think there will be splitscreen in this game.
