Do it. Trade in every single game you own for RDR.

Nah I always keep all my games for nostalgia's sake. Guess I'll have to skip the rent next month :D

I'm really curious, what do Europeans think of the wild west?

I'd be interested in hearing from non-Americans as well. I think I just take for granted that the 'wild west' is our history over here and forget that it's a distinctly American (or North American, I should say) point in history.

Anyway: I really can't wait to go pick my copy up on release day (I've got it pre-ordered at Gamestop). I've been trying not to get hyped for this game, but I just can't help it -- it looks so damned good.

Might as well add me to the list too.

You can hit me up for whatever game we both have.

PS: BTW, if I ordered it for over-night shipping, will it come on release day or 1 day after? Because I didn't see a release day shipping option on Gamestop.

i'm really looking forward to RDR. I played Red Dead Revolver, and loved it. I haven't pre-ordered it, so i'm just going to get it from best buy once i get a chance that day.

actually, might as well add me to that list, most of my friends are into straight up multiplayer games (cod, halo, etc.), while i'm into 'fun' games, and it'd be nice to have a 'posse' when i feel like multiplayer

It's a bit of a downer, that you can't fully swim in RDR. But that's okay since I probably won't be doing much swimming anyway, compared to the amount of horse back riding I'll be doing. And I hope the AI that they've mentioned in http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2010/apr/30/games-gameculture, really does come as a surprise. I'd just love to stumble upon a group of cowboys or something sitting out in the open land, talking about one of my current escapades through the West.

I felt the same way when I read the article, but now I've eased it a bit with my new box set of the Sergio Leone Anthology "Man With No Name" movies. I've been watching them over and over again, with a few other Western's thrown in. Believe me, it really helps the addiction hype I'm sure most are feeling for this game.

It is saying 23 hours, date is set to the eighth, not the eighteenth.

So psyched for this game...

Like i did with GTA IV, i play sp and mp at the same time, if i feel like giving sp a break, i'll go and shoot people up in mp, helps the game live longer imo.

Going to be going through the singleplayer, though I am very excited about the posse free mode gameplay. That looks like it will make a great game amazing. We should definitely get two groups of eight together and duke it out in free mode.

Lucky. I still gotta see A Fistful of Dollars.

Single player. Probably won't play multiplayer at all.

SP then a little MP, and once the SP's finished and I've done enough side story, it's all MP.

You can get the whole Anthology collection, for pretty cheap on Amazon.com; that's where I got mine.

This better be good, I'm getting caught up in the hype as much as all of you guys but if this game is a flop then I will be so disappointed I may well cry.

Still, at least Rockstar has a decent history of making open world, slightly grim games based on flawed and unwilling heroes.

Hey newbie, you put my GT down as 'The Dark Posse'. Not that's not, uh, cool and all, but it's actually, 'DeAdDaN73'. Sorry, I must've had something else in my post that you got it confused with, probably when I was joking about naming the posse.

Anyway, if Rockstar pulls a Peter Molyneux (spelling?) on us and the hype far exceeds the game; I'm rioting.
