Hey newbie, you put my GT down as 'The Dark Posse'. Not that's not, uh, cool and all, but it's actually, 'DeAdDaN73'. Sorry, I must've had something else in my post that you got it confused with, probably when I was joking about naming the posse.

Anyway, if Rockstar pulls a Peter Molyneux (spelling?) on us and the hype far exceeds the game; I'm rioting.
Oops, sorry about that, all fixed now.

This better be good, I'm getting caught up in the hype as much as all of you guys but if this game is a flop then I will be so disappointed I may well cry.

Still, at least Rockstar has a decent history of making open world, slightly grim games based on flawed and unwilling heroes.

From some of the stuff I've read about it, RDR is just GTA4 but more well defined and cleaned up a bit; and with an obvious Wild West setting. It's supposed to run smoother and better than GTA4 too.

So I don't think this game will be a flop or anything... I'm more worried on the game stores possibly not having enough copies when I go to get mine... though, I do plan to get my copy before I have to go to work, and hopefully fire it up before than too. But you never know.

That's why you pre-order...... :whisper:

Mine's fully paid off. Just gotta go in at midnight (if they have a midnight launch) and pick it up. :D

Release day delivery FTW.

Is that the one day delivery or is it its own option? When I pre-ordered mine there was no release date shipping option.

Yeah, I've got mine 20% payed off. I never pay in full, as the last couple of times I've done that I've had to wait a day or two to actually get it; when it should have come out the day I went in in the first place. So usually they only get 20% of the price.

And will they be having a midnight release? I really hope they don't because I hate listening to (no offense to anyone on here) but I hate listening to those really annoying high pitch voiced teens and their parents, talk on and on until the place opens up the doors to get the game. That's why on any major game I buy, I usually go in the morning when kids are at school. No line, no conversation (besides the exchange of a friendly hello), and no other hassles.

I'm pretty sure it's its own option. The only reason I knew about it was because I was notified of it while checking out.

Where'd you order from? I just checked my order details and there was no release date shipping option.

Couldn't you just like sit in your car or something until the doors open?

I've never been to a midnight release and I've been wondering if I could do that.....

I could, but do I really want to be following in a bunch of rowdy teens and their parents, and then be swarmed by the lot? No, not really is my answer.

That's why getting it in the morning is the best for me... except GTA4, and other games (not just R* games) when I had to go after work because they were sold out by the morning.

I'm not 100% on this, but I think when is shows Reyes and people are raising up the rifles, and that one rebel hits the soldier at the fort; I think they're carrying 1903 Springfield's? I hope so, I love the Springfield!

Why does it say 23 days? it comes out the 18th.

21st in Europe, though that's only 12 days from now.

I ran into an old crazy lady begging me to help her find a man named Peter, but that seemed like too much work so I shot her and moved on.

I don't think so doesn't this game take place during the mid - late 1800s?

"... but you can aim the rope ring at people, too. I went to the saloon and found a prosttute, hog-tied her and then slung her over my shoulder to take for a ride. She didn't take too kindly to this treatment, screaming out obscenities like, "There are other ways to a girl's heart, you ass!" along the way. I responded by leaving her on a train track."

This game is going to be so great..

In that case there had better be an http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1911_pistol or one of it's variants in the game. I love those things.

I believe it's takes place two years before the Mexican Revolutions/Civil War which began in 1910. So the game takes place in 1908. It's supposed to be the last place to the true wild west. A sort of dying breed is living in New Austin (where you'll begin I'm guessing) and you're one of those dying breeds of wild west people... why I say that, is because telephones, cars, and trains have ruined the wild west in 1908. :

Second, it probably wouldn't be a 1911.... something close, but not a 1911... more like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_M1902 or http://www.gunsamerica.com/976964865/Guns/Pistols/Colt-Automatic-Pistols/COLT_1905_45_ACP_PISTOL.htm.

I've yet to find out if the entire game world is explorable right off the bat. Does anyone know? I'd hate it if you had to unlock areas like in GTA, I probably wouldn't buy it if that was the case.
