Finished the epilogue this morning. What I love about this game is that I was still sitting there at the end of the credits

I've played the game for about 5 hours now, and I really like it. The setting and music really do embody a spaghetti western well.

I was after a bounty earlier and made it to the guy's camp. I took out his three guys, and then he hopped on a horse and rode off. I had the stallion at that point and was chasing him, but couldn't catch up. I could have easily shot him but wanted to take him in alive, though couldn't get in range to lasso him. What I finally did is I took my revolver, entered Dead Eye and shot his horse 5 times (which I normally don't like to do, just because it makes me feel bad) so he fell off. I then went up and got off my horse to hogtie him, but he ran off, jumped on my stallion and bolted. I didn't want to lose my horse so in desperation I shot an innocent guy off of his horse nearby, but the horse took off and the bounty got away. Just so that I didn't lost anything I let the sheriff kill me to restart.

It was going to be so cinematic, up until the point where he stole my horse :P.

I finished it last night and I was thinking the same thing. This was probably the best ending to a game I've ever seen. I kinda wish
Spoiler
it would let you just shoot him in the hand or something. I tried multiple times but it always ended up with me having to kill him.

John Marston is an ass.
Was just dikeing around earlier and some woman tried to steal my horse. So I just whistled for it but then had a great idea. I hog tied her, stuck her out in the middle of nowhere, and put some bait down on her. Then I walk thinking "Ah, that was satisfying" until I hear the trademark cougar growl. Pull out my shotgun thinking I'm gonna have to brain one with it but to my surprise I see that the cougar runs over and kills/eats the woman I stuck bait on. John then go's "Thank you Darwin."

I didn't even know you had done this before! I was just screwing around with different methods of killing.(Constantly ramming people with my horse remains my favorite. Especially near a cliff so that I intentionally miss only for them to jump off the cliff.)

Ironicaly kill the cannibal at the end of american appetites, I loved the irony the wolves loved thier meal and the innocent man got back to his wife... Everbody except the cannibal, his victims and the families of his victims wins. Besides I wanted a painful death he killed a defenceless woman and a child and thats only those we know about.

It depends. Once I beat the game, I usually just shot them since I already had enough money and on my first play through, realized that after robbing a bank, and getting a bounty; capturing a bounty actually lowers your current bounty number. So I don't even bother with them most of the time. Though, while I was playing through the SP story, I usually took them alive.

I had a really annoying glitch where he wouldn't show up in cutscenes <_< There was just an empty space, but you could still hear his voice.

Only the hogtied guy didnt appear for me first time. It made me lol though
"A mans gota eat mister, a mans gotta eat."
*stares at nothingness the man was going to eat*
..."sure... Wolves gotta eat to"
Wolves : *howl* om nom nom

And all was good.
Is it wrong in this game I kill more people than animals, and usually want to spare them, damn I hope I can just get something that stopps them attcking unless you use agression, I was watching coyotes catch rabbits, was nice how it seemed realistic... Until a bour and a couger tag team you.

Get this for annoying cutscene glitch:

Spoiler
Towards the end of the game where you send your wife and son away on the horse whilst you remain in the barn to face the music... Throughout that entire cutscene I had a mauled and beaten Jack (After he had been attacked by the bear) in the back of the barn, along with the actual Jack, who was active in the cutscene. He was just floating there in the background, all covered in blood... Horrifying.

I'm still making my way through the main quest-line. I finished up Mexico and am now in West Elizabeth. I did the first mission there, but now I'm too enthralled by the northern areas like Tall Trees to get back to the main quest-line for now. I had to take my poncho off though. It just didn't feel right wearing it in America, let alone places like Blackwater and the log cabin, hunter atmosphere of the northern areas. I had my fun acting like Eastwood in Mexico, at any rate. :P

As for the pole: alive. I like the rush of riding back to town, outlaws on my tail, and one tied up on the back of my horse.

Edit: Unrelated question: how exactly do you know which breed of horse is which? I'd like to try to break one of the better breeds in the game, but I'm not sure what they look like or where they are. I'm still riding the

AFAIK that horse is the best one in the game. However, the Red Dead Wiki has a picture of every type of horse.

Spoiler
If you see a goldish brown horse in New Austin, it's probably a Kentucky Saddler. Pure white horse in Mexico, Hungarian Half Bred Jet Black horse in New Elizabeth, American Thorough Bred. Those are the 3 best breeds.

Yeah, it's a tough one.

Spoiler
Personally, I enjoyed every second of it. I got really immersed in the later parts of the story when I knew John so well, and was just getting to know his family. And then it was all ripped away by that [censored] Ross. I enjoyed killing his wife, brother, horse and then shooting that bastard 1 time in the knee, 3 in the chest and 2 in the head. I hope nobody ever does that kind of thing to me in real life, because I enjoyed that part of the game far to much :P

As far as morals go. Murder isn't a good thing, i think we all agree there. On the other hand, Ross did have it coming. If he'd done that to me, and someone else killed him, I wouldn't exactly be shedding any tears. More like buying the killer a cake.

I think I've found the most fun thing to do in this game.

MAJOR SPOILERS
Spoiler

1. Go to the place where Dutch jumped off the cliff
2. Climb up all the ladders and get to the top of the cliff
3. Make sure you have the drunk cheat on(invincibility is optional)
4. Watch your drunk self stumble off the cliff
5. repeat.

Oh and the code for being drunk is "I'm drunk as a skunk and twice as smelly"

Spoiler
IMO it was pretty black and white, John had attoned, full honour, removed most criminals from the West and was living peacefully and regreted his ways. Ross manipulated him, took credit, and killed him when he was no threat. Tried to kill his family to uncle was a harmless drunk, abigael a [censored] ooh such a threat and a boy that has a clean slate, ross had switched roles with John becoming the bad guy. I emptied a clip into his head, next time I play its his groin. If I play that far, jack annoys me too much.

My brother kept laughing at me in online mode, I was playing as this hugely overweight US soldier, and every time I tried to shortcut down a steep hill he'd start rolling and tumbling like he was in a 1920s slapstick comedy. I like the way you die instantly if your nose goes under water. Once I was acting all badass out by this old woman, and as I turned to leave her property I slipped and fell in a lake.
