I hope they keep it wild wild west because at the time of red dead redemption the "cowboy" way is dying and giving way to the whole industrial stuff.

They could always kick it backward in time. I don't think they share Bethesda's rule of "always move forward in the timeline."

well, Technically Red Dead Redemption was the second game. the first was Red Dead Revolver..

so if they were to make a third game, I don't think it would carry the "redemption" title.. more likely something akin to "Red Dead Retaliation".

sorry, just had to be "that guy" :P

anyways, i certainly wouldn't mind a new red dead game, we really don't get enough wild west video games anymore, which is sad cause i always enjoyed them.. hopefully it would get a PC port this time..

EDIT: and Redemption did have a pretty good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IkvAb6THQY

It's kind of odd how they handled the epilogue. A plotline that could've taken up an entire game was resolved in, what, one mission? It feels like they've shot themselves in the foot. Red Dead Retaliation/Revenge/Retribution would've been the perfect title for a game with that as the main plot.

Good. Keep it that way. Jack was a garbage end-game character. I can't play as him at the end of the game, why the hell would I want to play a whole game hearing "WERK YA DAM NAG!" all day.

Man you got me excited that there was an actual announcement.

Red Dead Retired- follows the tale of Landon Ricketts to his retirement in Mexico :P

Agreed...I hated playing as Jack.

This. I'm one of the <1million people who actually owned the game, and it would be painful for them to do an actual successor (especially since it would be entering WWI era, wild west is over).

RDRedemption had a killer soundtrack. Revolver was pretty damn good too though.

I hope they do a PC port too. Considering the success GTA V enjoyed on PC, it makes little sense RD3 wouldnt make it too.

I vote for a thread title correction.

What about the next game actually be about the Ricketts younger days. He still has my favorite quote from Rockstar games: "I was the fastest in my time, I must've been, I'm the only one left."

Basically. Glad they ended the story right then and there. I'd prefer the Red Dead games work similarly to GTA, in that there is no continuation and every game tells a different story with a new set of characters.

Either way, RDR is probably one of my most played games. Both in its single player and multiplayer. Would be excited as hell if a new one is finally announced.

No thanks, I'm impractically pulling for Bioshock 4.

Nobody remembers the brilliance that was Red Dead Revolver. :nope:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEodBhtBaj4And the spaghetti visual style. Even if Redemption was technically a better game overall.

Yeah I would hope for a game set much earlier, maybe with a focus on Native Americans and their struggle against the US (if they could come up with a story that is respectful).

2K did say there were going to be more in the series, in case you didn't know.

I'd even just be happy for a PC port of Red Dead Redemption. It's hard to recapture sheer brilliance In sequels, and releasing a game on PC ensures it's immortality :P

I said this long ago...would love to play as a young outlaw Ricketts. I really want there to be an option to be an outlaw next time, not the chaotic good character.

Or Gun, I thought that was a pretty good western game at the time.

I remember Gun. I believe Rockstar took a lot of the aspects of that game to make Red Dead Redemption.

Yeah, RDR basically felt like Gun 2.0 to me. Which isn't a bad thing. It was the type of game that would benefit from more powerful consoles.

whatever "R" word they go with, I hope it captures the themes of the game as well as redemption did.. heck, the title alone "Red Dead Redemption" fits the game so well, for both Johns journey and his ultimate end..
