Red dot sights, ACOG sights?

Post » Wed Oct 20, 2010 11:45 am

i hate call of duty, modern warfare, medal of honor, battlefiield, and all those b******* military games....so no i dont think it would be nice to have those kinda feature put in a game thats supposed to take place in a 50s style of setting. next thing we know we'll be walking around the waste land with thermal vision and sticky cams

Extra Clips: Yes
Better Scopes: Yes
RDS and Acog's:NO.
I have BC2, it's not a bad game.In some respects, neither is MW2. But I DON'T want Fallout to turn into a profit fuelled FPS.(COD)
All the guns now have iron sights. That's better then turning it into a FPS.

If it's not too hard to implement into the game then sure, I mean, if you don't like using laser sight then don't use it, but "it's not 50's'ish" is not a valid argument.
Just cause timeline diverged does not mean that scientific progress and advancement did not.
Kinda weird they were able to create laser rifles while not being able to create laser sights.

And no I did not read through the entire thread, so sorry if someone's already said this and it looks like a cheap copy paste. :)

So, if we have ACOG and RDS (whatever those are) we automatically turn fallout into COD?
Ooookay?
I didn't know COD had VATS, SPECIAL, traits, perks, leveling up skills, dialogue trees etc.

What good does a laser sight do if you have a crosshair and if weaponskill affects spread?

That said, would you not rather have something more SCIENCE! 'ish and in keeping with the setting, than a laser sight/ACOG? If you had a choice would you have something likehttp://astoundingartifacts.blogspot.com/2009/08/dan-dare-space-pistol-lone-star-1950s.html than http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.hitechtactical.com/images/P/p-16391.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.hitechtactical.com/TA31TRD-4x32-Trijicon-ACOG-Dual-Illuminated-Scope-with-8.0-MOA-Trijicon-RedDot.html&usg=__u5em2D2bs1Vu45kpKEryRN05nRw=&h=306&w=300&sz=38&hl=en&start=0&tbnid=LwUbMOUyoSFxJM:&tbnh=129&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dacog%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D665%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=122&vpy=58&dur=384&hovh=227&hovw=222&tx=116&ty=120&ei=aDBMTMLPBuWTOMeTnJYD&page=1&ndsp=28&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0?

Finally i get to agree with you.
Fallout fans need to stop sticking to lore and fallout 1 & 2
Games are evolving more content is better
end of discussion.

Whoa guys, take it easy on the insults here its unneccessary and will get you both a slap.

My intention from the Raygun was to show a style, posing the question if you had a choice between something retro-futuristic in Fallout, and something Modern in Fallout what would you choose.
I posted that raygun because it had a sight on it, to compare to the ACOG.

the whole series is based of a ray gun? what.
ive played all the games, dont tell me what i have and havent done, ever.
its based of what people thought the future would be like in the 40's-60's
people didnt think aliens would crash and people would find alien blasters...

it would the make the game more of an FPS

That's certainly something I wouldn't want. But I guess it all depends on how those are implemented and how the skills affect their use and what sort of effects they offer beyond the visual difference.
