Red Faction: Armageddon

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 4:33 am

Should I get this game for my ps3 or xbox? ive always thought of it like this: most of the time, exclusives are better for the ps3 and multiplatforms are for the xbox. but for red faction: armageddon im not so sure. what do u think?

Right, I have pruned this back to the OP. They say patience is a virtue, so NHsports123 please be virtuous and wait for someone to post and answer your question.

Well sometimes virtues cannot be withheld, especially when it's not your day.

I'd go with the PS3 version. I have both consoles, but it's my platform of choice. The game will essentially be the same, so go with whatever controller you prefer.

its usually best to go with what controller you like more for that kind of game. also, maybe one of your hardrives is more full than the other, maybe go with the one that has more memory free. really there is not much difference, each has benefits and detractors (most of which are hardly noticable in the first place)

Imo consoles should not be allowed to have exclusives, it just limits how many copies that game can sell. and there are some games I have never played, and probably will never play because they are on the other console but they look really good.

I have the first one and found the keyboard and mouse a lot more enjoyable to use compared to a controller.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with the Xbox for this game, only because I have about 10x more games for my PS3 and InFAMOUS2 is coming out so that way I'll have a new game on both consoles. Also, more of my friends have the Xbox. But like I always say, I prefer multiplatform games for Xbox and exclusives for PS3, so it works out anyway.

It gives people an incentive to buy that console over the other. ;)

I'd say PS3, but thats just my preference.

That's due to first-party and second-party developers. It's not like they say "Hmm, I don't think the 360/PS3 deserves this game". At least I don't think they do....

Yes, you are quite right, indeed. Just as Bungie has a contract with Microsoft, Naughty Dog has one with Sony. The truth is that if they'd made their games multiplatform, they'd actually LOSE money due to how much Microsoft/Sony is already paying them.

Just played the demo and had a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the last game. Are there any outdoor environments in Armageddon, or is it all underground?

Myself when a multi-platform game comes out I usually buy the first one I come across, be it on the PS3 or Xbox360 lol I have Fallout 3 on the PS3 and New Vegas on the 360. Dragon age on the 360 and Dragon age 2 on the PS3, okay that's a lie I returned Dragon Age 2 and got something else cause I hated it. Oh and for some reason beyond my knowledge I have Sega Genesis collection on both PS3 and 360

One of Volitions dev's said that approx. 20% takes place above ground, and it's a fairly more linear experience. This takes away the pointless driving from point A to point B that made a game about destruction... a lot less about destruction.

I remember playing the first RF on my PS2 years ago. I'm actually about to go and preorder Armageddon, just waiting for the Gamestop to open. Need to get my hands on some Mr.Toots...

As others have said. It basically comes down to which controller you prefer, I doubt the gameplay will differ.

Sony and Microsoft probably pay developers to release exclusively to their console. As you said, you want to play it but you can't because it on another console, well some people go and buy that console to play that game, which in turn earns Sony/Microsoft money, with which Sony/Microsoft pay their developers.
