I haven't played with the patch yet.. but this was a big problem I had when playing. Red Rock canyon is definitely laggy. I'm sure it has to do with the mountain range. Not sure what could be done about it. It's always a good idea to save before you go in there.. do as much as possible... and then once you leave the area, save .. shut down the game and restart. The game just becomes laggy at times.. and if you notice it really starting to really stutter badly you know it's going to freeze or crash. Best to just save and restart when this happens. Restarting while your in the canyon also helps the area for a bit.

I haven't seen any lag until I download the new patch yesterday. Now its lags all the time and freezes games just as same. :sadvaultboy:

Do any of you guys clear the cache when it starts to lag? You hold down both bumpers and the blue X button while the game is loading until you hear the music. Helps for me when it starts to lag.

I noticed a frame rate drop when I went there pre-patch, which I assumed was due to all the detail in that area, plants etc plus lots of GK's moving around and doing combat practice.
Things returned to normal when I moved on from there.
I haven't been back since downloading the new patch ...
