Anyone else really excited to meet these guys and the John hancock fellow? I've a feeling they will be the Commonwealth Minutemen's rivals.

Wasn't the Real John Hancock a supporter of American independence?
I'm unsure if I'll like another wacky group that's just crazed with radiation and the apocalypse and is based around a far-fetched theme. I'd rather see an actual British ship with soldiers coming to invade the area or something because they can't go back or whatever if such antagonists are needed. Were they historical enactors that went crazy or what, need to see exactly how they are.
I think he signed some document to that effect.
The largest signature also belongs to him...hence why a signature if often referred to as one's John Hancock.
I thought it was because he was the first to sign? But not being American my knowledge of such history is spotty at best.
Lol, this is like saying that your mother is just that person that gave birth to you that one time.
(Not directed at you Phoss just in general)
Haha, I know, it was just a casual response to the comment about him being a "supporter of independence" =)
I think your thinking about Herbie Hancock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8G3wsusVkUM
Just kidding.
John Hancock was a signer of the Dec of Independence. He also was a notorious smuggler and all around rabble rouser. Can't remember if he was a member of the Sons of Liberty or not.
Yeah can't wait to explore all of the history around Boston.
So whos the Redcoat Ghouls? Is that the pirate looking ghoul in the concept art at E3? I could picture him being an enemy to the Minutemen and possibly being the leader of a gang of Raiders at those dockyards that are shown during the combat montage.
The redcoat ghoul is John Hancock, you are right. Why he has a redcoat, we do not know, maybe it is just that, concept art. He might as well be part of the Minutemen, for all that is known.
Wikipedia actually says he was the first signer as well.
redcoat ghouls? Was there mention of them?
Or is it just a way for the minute men to describe ghouls?
The Legion and the Kings were pretty well explained, and I think that's what's important. If the Minutemen backstory in Fallout 4 is as halfhearted as a lot of Fallout 3's lore was - then I'll consider them a ridiculous faction. If there's a good backstory there, a good reason as to why they're the way they are then I'll be fine with them outside of the laser muskets.
It's different. The legion doesn't have anything to do with Las Vegas, or America at all. It's not a history lesson.
Having all kinds of groups who remind you of what happened to Boston in historical time (and are fighting with the almost same motives as their old counterparts) IS a history lesson.
That would be a cool random event. Wasn't there a South Park http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/southpark/images/7/7a/The_Snuke.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20070409135949 like that? I can't think of the name.
Edit: Found it, its called "http://southpark.wikia.com/wiki/The_Snuke."
Oh... If I would life in Boston and make a militia... I would call me Minuteman because it's has a historical background. That's only logical. I don't see it as history lesson. Or was it a history lesson that the Nazis used Germanic terms like Gau? Was it a history lesson that the Fascists in Italy referenced a lot to the Romans? Something like this is only natural.
