I want to know, how can i put just english voice, and keep french text and menu?

Can you help me?

I found a tweak with the file system of crysis2, i change french language by english but all the game is in english.

1. Install your game in French. Voice + text.
2. Find in the game directory the languages packages. (*.pak files)
3. Change the name of the french.pak to a temporary name like french.paK_original
4. Change the name of the english.pak to french.pak


=> I Think it should work if you have the retail version with more than one language pak files.

It isn't work, I renamed english pak in french pak, and french pak in french-original. An i select french laguage in French in system file configuraition.

If you installed the game in french, it run in french properly, it should work with the pak files renamed ONLY, after your installation:
...Crysis2/Gamecrysis2/Localized
1. french.pak => renamed => french.pak_original (actually no pak file format)
2. english.pak => renamed => french.pak
BUT if you changed lines in some config or system files after you installed the game in french... maybe that's your problem now.

What I doubt now is if the subtitles are in the localized pak files. In this case the content of the pak files can't be modified because Crytek's decision.

PS: I will get my retail copy of the game in a few hours, then I'll try to test this with the game installed it's just a minute.
I remember that I did it with first Crysis someting similar to change languages and keeping my spanish subtitles.

It is not work, only english text and voice.

Do you want dialogs in English and text in French? This is an example.
If the pack files aren't encrypted and protected try this, it should work this time...

1. Go to ...Crysis2/Gamecrysis2/Localized
2. Make a copy of the file with the desired voices, in this case, english.pak
3. Open with Winrar program your french.pak and you see in "languages" folder another "dialog" folder and many other files.
4. Extract the "many other files": HUD_Font_LocFont.gfx, HUD_Font_LocFont_glyphs.gfx and all other XML files to a temporary place.
5. Go to your copied_english.pak and ADD in it the extracted files: HUD_Font_LocFont.gfx, HUD_Font_LocFont_glyphs.gfx and all other XML files overwriting.
6. Rename your french.pak to french.pak_original (as a buckup)
7. Now all you need now (if you installed in French) is rename the NEW MIX pak file called copied_english.pak or similar to french.pak (this is the new french.pak to play)
8. So now you have a MIX pak file called french.pak with voices in english and text in french.
9. When you want to play with voices and text in french you must rename the MIX pak file to french.pak_mix and rename your french.pak_original to french.pak.

I had a new problem, in solo, to the 12 checkpoint, when the scientist talk to me about nanosuit, i had back to windows, the game is shutdown, i can't play anymore, i am blocked.

Help me, thanks.I haven't installed yet the game, but I read that people had problems with videos of the game, maybe you can skip them or something like disabling temporaly the videos.pak file renaming to videos.pak_TEMP and trying to play... if you can foward then rename again the file to videos.pak... I don't know... sorry...
I can't open the pak file with winrar, it said the file is unknow or damaged.I haven't install yet my retail dvd, but I could see in it and verify that the *.pack files in the retail game are encrypted and protected.
I tried to see and modify a pak file downloaded from a page, that I don't remember, with one language pak file. I don't know why that pak file was unprotected letting me see what it content. So with the language paks files from the retail game you can't do as I post before, sorry.

Ok thanks Makina, i don't where is the problem with the solo.I had problems with the first introduction level and gameplay where I couldn't activate the first PC with dialogs in a room or open a door either. I solved it restarting the level again.

Thank for your answer, for my crashes, i reinstall the game and it run fine, but for the language, i wait for the next patch, perhaps they allowed to use original voice as bfbc2.
