redgaurd any good

Post » Fri Dec 02, 2011 3:08 am

Hey, I 'm not really getting on with my dark elf and not enjoying it too much and am thinking of switching to a redgaurd as they are good with one handed, archery and some magics which is kind of what I want as it seems like a nice mix.

How are people finding redgaurd?

Cheers

Races don't really matter THAT much. If you aren't enjoying your current playing style, changing a race will not feel like a complete change gameplay wise. It all depends on how you play. Why don't you elaborate on that a bit? If you were playing a mage with your Dunmer but weren't digging it, try a Redguard / Nord warrior, or perhaps an Argonian thief. Unlike previous ES games, races will not define your playstyle in a major way.

They are pretty good along with that poison resistance though. I just didnt care for redguard much at all.

I have a stealth nord and I love him but the ps3 lag issues lead me towards making a new character who is a redguard. I enjoy it so far but it doesn't feel like a big change yet.

I enjoy the adrenaline power, stamina is important.
I have a pure warrior character, I'm satisfied with it so far.
Can't wait to get a spear mod to go with my guy.

Is it possible to rearrange your perks after you have chosen them? I'm using a lot of destruction and it just seems pretty weak to me and any big fights are really hard, maybe I have wondered into some quests that are two high level for me at the moment but it just seems pretty hard to beat a lot of enemies. Do you know when magic starts getting more powerful as all I really have is sparks flame and heal and at the moment its just stand there and flame someone and heal if I get low health. My character actually seems better with a two handed sword than magic.

I think a redguard will be an excellent choice if you plan to play with a focus on Archery, One-Handed Combat, Destruction & Alteration. You'll start out with a skill level of 20 at these (25 for one-handed combat).
Thats just in numbers tho. You should play any race that appeals to you the most.

Adrenaline rush is nice for power attack maneuvers, when its up. The poison resist is cool. I guess that alchemy poison resist perk would let you hit 100% resist. :)

Anyway, I enjoy my redguard paladin.
