Firstly, its not a half-assed Renrijra Krin RP, nor is it a flimsy attempt at one of those family gangster crime outfits that everybody wants, but doesn't want to stick to.
Its both, and neither at the same time. It has the environment of The Godfather or Scarface, the tension of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, the calculated swashbuckling of The Seven Samurai, and finally the sensibilities of Morrowind at its harsh, Dagoth-haunted fringes.
Now leaving aside my poorly devised buying points, I'll give you some major points that are the plot.
:- The year is 3E 429. For the last decade, the Empire has been withering away. The Septims are old and sickly. Uriel Septim VII's heir is 50 years old, without sons. As Geldall Septim, he holds the Dragon Throne as regent but his failure in administration leads many to believe that the Septim blood is thin. In Hammerfell, the Redguard city-states are becoming more united as the necessity for a Forebear faction and a Crown faction recedes. In Elsweyr, the bickering rajahs of Pellitine and Anequina are privately encouraging illegal moon sugar trade as the new Mane embarks on a campaign to purge Senchal, affectionately known as the [censored]-Hole of the Empire, of illegal activity.
:- The old smugglers' run called the Blue Stretch between Torval and Leyawiin has suddenly become more dangerous as Marius Caro of Leyawiin tightens the laws on Khajiit, Argonians and illegal activity in general. Brown-shirted enforcers roam the foreign districts nightly, dealing with noisy Khajiit, Argonians and Orcs. Many Khajiit are resorting to the long route around Valenwood by sea to the Abecean Isles, particularly Stros M'Kai and Stirk. In turn, the daring Redguard smugglers have taken it upon themselves to dare the Blue Stretch with not only skooma, but khat, hallucinogenic mushrooms and even Dwemer prizes plundered from Stros M'Kai and mainland Hammerfell. Along with the smugglers comes an entourage of swordsmen, pirates and priests.
:- Senchal, the main setting of our story, is in jeopardy. The Mane of Elsweyr has decided to purge the city of all its decadence and corruption. The rich Khajiiti clans with close ties to all the smuggling operations in the city are opposed to the new Mane and the Empire who maintain a nominal garrison in the city. Freelance smugglers are looking for help from the powerful clans, but the tight Royalist (Mane-following) operations with the aid of Imperial watches on the bay, are preventing any immediate action.
:- In four days, an Imperial ship bearing 400,000 Septims worth of Dwemer and Orichalc goods from Hammerfell, destined for Bravil, is to pass through Senchal for more supplies and a new crew before heading to Leyawiin. Rumours abound that the smugglers of Senchal plan to steal the load, disperse it to get gold, then use the resources to end the Mane's influence in Senchal. As such, Imperial officers have been dispatched to crack down on thievery before the ship's arrival.
Three factions are vying for the prize - the foreign and mostly Redguard smugglers, the Khajiit crime syndicates, and the Mane/Empire forces - and with less than a week to prepare. Perhaps a chase for the prize might even lead as far as Cyrodiil, if things go awry...
