Don't redguards have dark skin? The women on the right behind the blonde girl looks Imperial. The dude with the beard to the left and behind the girl looks like a breton.

That is the entire Point of Redguards, and when Beth says that they are making so you can tell the difference between races then I doubt they mean "Redguards lose their most defining feature!"

Wasn't there a big thread discussing this and I believe Pete confirmed that the one guy is a Redguard? I could be wrong, but I thought he did.

Wow, pointless thread...
I don't see why a pre-release screenshot should open such a discussion.

Wow! People actually look like people now :celebration: And I think that they might be but IMO, they look a tad short.

I am however more interested in the guy on the chair than the barkeep

He looks Black to me. Like white people can have darker skin tones and still be considered white, black people can also have lighter skin tones.

There's 4 people in picture. If this screenshot is a showcase of races then:
Blond girl in front - Nord
Brunette behind the counter - Imperial
Bartender looks kinda Imperial to me bu is the same hight as a girl, so Breton.
And a client on barstool with short brown curly hair and grayish brown round ear is a Redguard.

I believe someone pointed out the one female sweeping behind the count is a Dunmer.

No. It's a Nord (Or at least a "White" human race). He is in shadow.

Why the hell do people think that is a redguard?

This had a few big discussions before. Some people think it's a Redguard, some people think it's a Nord.

Fact is, all we know for sure is the blonde woman in front is a Nord. The end.

Don't think so. They look too pale. I want the Redguards to be properly black again, like they were in Morrowind. They looked mulatto in Oblivion.

I wouldnt go that far. The fact is for black people, skin tone ranges.

Yeah that's true, but Redguards aren't simply just "black people". They're an individual race in TES lore and maybe it's because Morrowind is older, but the Morrowind portrayal of Redguards will always seem more lore-friendly than Oblivion's.

Morrowind didn't have a good range of skin tones for Redguards either.

That's true, but I preferred the Morrowind portrayal of them.

Also, how the bloody hell did you reach Diviner in under 3 months?! I'm here two and a half years, posting fairly regularly, and I only reached Diviner a few weeks ago! :P

Is it just me or does the guy behind the counter have blonde hair?

Also if that is a Redguard then they have failed at their goal of making races more distinct.

EDIT: It's not the skin tone that's throwing me off, I agree that there should be skin tone variance among races.
