Redguard under sign of Atronach help?

Post » Wed Dec 04, 2013 4:58 pm

I have such an outstanding, successful Redguard with the Atronach birthsign in OB that I'm wondering if I can repeat something like it in Morrowind.

His favoured attributes will be Strength/Endurence.

Thing is, I can see that the OB Redguards major skills probably would not work as well in Morrowind. I'm thinking to use Blade, Block, Mysticism, and Restoration, but what else?

He must have Alchemy for the restore magicka, should I make that a major or minor?

I don't know which of Light or Heavy armour to use. I tend to see a Redguard as very fast in movement and not lumbering around, what do you think?

Should he have some kind of Markmanship ability to help out in certain situations? Or should he have shortsword as a minor?

Any help will be appreciated. I checked out the game's stock Redguard build but it does'nt seem to fit an Atronach Redguard.

Everything should work fine. Literally, any build works in Morrowind. If you make Alchemy a major skill, then your potion making should work most of the time right away. With a good amount of strength, heavy armor should not slow you down. I use Marksman with my Redguard, but it really depends on what skill set you will need for the Factions/Great House you plan on joining.

I use Alchemy, Conjuration, Mysticism, Destruction and Enchant as Majors and Shortblade, Heavy, Block, Marksman and Armorer as Minors. If I max these out and get 35 in Sneak, Speechcraft and Alteration, then I can join any faction or GH that I want and rise all the way to the top in them.Good luck!

GS, thanks for your reply. I've made a note of your Major and Minors, I may do some shuffling around with mine.

How have you got on without Restoration? Also, as a (in general) melee character can you go through the game without longblade? I like shortblade as well, fast! However, it's a matter of reach with some monsters, is'nt it.

Do you use the Marksman skill much with your Redguard? I have not tried a Marksman in Morrowind, but I know that in OB it needs to be used a lot.

Enchant and alchemy beat the crap out of Restoration. I never fortify my Intelligence, Luck or skill and I can still make restore health potions that rock. Plus, casting a spell in combat can fail, but not a potion. After combat, a cheap ring with "Restore health 7 points for 1 second" can be cast dozens of times and refills while you are walking around.

A Daedric Tanto or Wakazashi will knock an opponent back the same as a Claymore, but much quicker. Plus, a Daedric Wakazashi does 10 points of base damage with no wind up. Enchant it to do the most additional damage possible and you will have a rapid fire wrecking bar.

With Tribunal, you can get an unlimited supply of Dwarven Darts that do 20-50 points of damage. I slew Almalexia with these before she could say "Mortality svcks".

In Morrowind I believe Alchemy should be a major skill. It will not level up or bork your character like in Oblivion.
