As a RedGuard which side should I join?

Stormcloak or Imperials?

It's a hard choice due to RedGuard Lore. My character being a Redguard would feel great distrust towards the Imperials due to the signing of the White Gold Concordat in which the Imperials would have literally signed over my peoples lands to the Thalmor, I imagine my character would show mistrust or a sense of betrayal around any imperial.
But at the same time my character would have trouble siding with the Nords as the redguard and Nord forces have been clashing at the border between Hammerfell and Skyrim for a long time, not to mention that they're racist.

So yeah, I'm kind of stuck. What would you guys do? Keeping in mind that I'm roleplaying a RedGuard with the ideologies of the Crown, meaning I hold onto old Red Guard culture and tradition as opposed too Imperial culture.

Hmmmmmm

I was leaning more Stormcloak simply because I felt my Red Guard would sympathize with the plight of the Nords and could relate, is there any particular reason as to why you say this?

Well yeah, but that's kind of boring. I'm also fairly certain DLC will be released at some point that expands on the Thalmor and the post effects of the civil war.

Redguards would rightly feel a sense of betrayal, even though the Imperials did everything they could to help them behind the scenes, and even though they technically brought it upon themselves by "breaking" the treaty that had been signed. At the same time, even the most bitter of Redguards would feel little connection to the Stormcloak cause as they enjoy religious freedom in Hammerfell which was the primary call to arms in Skyrim. Its likely the Redguards would not favor any side, but seek to "stick it" to the Thalmor at any opportunity they could.

Redguards may not be a part of the empire anymore, but they have long hatred of the nords. The average Hammerfell citizen feels betrayed by the empire, both crowns (conservative and anti-imperial) and probably forebears (liberal and pro-empire) as well. I had the same issue with my redguard. She's a typical redguard, only exception being her battle-magic. I decided to join the empire. Even though it's not really her fight, she's growing to like Skyrim, and doesn't want the whole place to end up like Windhelm, with nords treating everyone else like dirt. Another thing to keep in mind, redguards in the empire have a long history as distinguished imperial soldiers. Your redguard would find much more comraderie amongst his/her fellow Yokudans.

Long story short: imperial.

ALL the groups in Skyrim are racist - the non-humans GENOCIDALLY so.

The Nords HATE the Thalmor. Natural allies of the Redguard.

You need to join the stormcloaks.

Stormcloaks. The Nords and Redguards have fought, but that's nothing compared to an Empire coming over and ruling you, only to throw you away when you might be a liability. Especially since you're a Crown. Bringing over those Imperial gods and Imperial culture.

You could do what my Redguard is doing. My Redguard named Drell, he decides based on morals. But the Civil War is a long way away from his mind. Still he has not decided which side to take, and will not for some time. There is no point in siding with either side until we know of that DLC. In the meantime stay friendly to both, be a sellsword, or a guardian of the light. Heck you could be some evil warlord out to smite anyone, cause your just that pissed. Just don't take sides yet. Review all the history, judge both sides equally. Not based on what a stormcloak says about the Imperials or what an Imperial says about a Stormcloak.

But remember the most important thing. If the second great war ever did happen, who would have a greater chance of winning? The Stormcloaks, and there weak army of only Nords, or the Imperials, who have resources and soliders hailing from all over Tamerial, maybe not with the same spirit of the Stormcloaks, but sometimes numbers beat strength.

Maybe you don't have a dog in this fight. Be an independant actor, and stick it to the Thalmor directly, while cursing both sides for fighting each other now, rather than when the real enemy is dealt with.

This is basically about which side you hate less (as a redguard). The way I see it, Hammerfell and Skyrim can get back to their own dispute after we stop the empire and those pretentious elves from taking over our corner of Tamriel. The empire is always sticking there nose where it doesn't belong and the thalmor are a bunch of power hungry self-important bstrds.

I believe that an average Redguard would not favor the Empire considering the result of the WGC, but they have never been allied with the Nords in the past as far as I am aware. However Ulfric is trying to establish an alliance with Hammerfell so go figure.

However, where the character comes from would likely be the deciding factor. F.ex. a Redguard born and raised in Cyrodiil would be more likely to join the Imperial Legion than one from Hammerfell.

She is a Crown from Hammerfell who was sent to track Thalmor movements in Skyrim.

I think I've pretty much decided Stormcloaks. Thank you guys for the replies.

Well, sometimes people are torn and want the perspective of others. Not a bad thing to ask for if you ask me. And sometimes people have ulterior motives for seemingly ignorant questions, like to start a debate(not that I think this thread is that option though).
