No redoran love?

Post » Mon Oct 04, 2010 5:45 am

I have been reinstalling morrowind recently (MGSO does a wonderful job) and installed some mods to expand on the great houses, I have the telvani rising and uliriths legacy for the telvanni and the grandmaster of hlaalu mod for house hlaalu which should add significant contend for each of these houses. However the one house I am likely to actually play (the redoran) dousn't seem to have any major content additions, the closest thing I have found is the PAX redoran mod which seems to add extra dialogue and quests for them but nothing like the others which add new strongholds, mines, expansion of the house etc, there are some small additions to the player stronghold but that is about it. Is there such a mod out there or was this house neglected because nobody plays them? (im playing an honorable warrior and I'm going to join the tribunal temple eventually so it makes sense for me from a RP PoV) I would ask this in the mod detectives thread but that seems more for finding mods which one knows exist

Thanks all

I always thought Hlaalu was the neglected one. :D

But yeah now that I think about it, I can't really remember many Redoran related mods except for the LGNPC ones...

By 'expansion' of House Redoran I gather you are referring to the player's stronghold at Bal Isra since the approximately sixty quests added by LGNPC Pax Redoran, Vivec Redoran and Indarys Manor are not insignificant.

Google located a few:

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=501

This appears a modest expansion of Bal Isra, but it seems that little or nothing has been done to the player's residence of Indarys Manor.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6240

This adds to Redoran holdings throughout Vvardenfell including a substantial expansion of Bal Isra. Since I have not examined the mod myself I cannot say what changes are made to the interior of Indarys Manor, but I suspect they are minor.

This link to a work in progress thread has not been active since the fall. It aspires to be a mod in the style of Rise of House Telvanni and Grandmaster of Hlaalu with both a stronghold expansion as well as additional (Archmaster) quests. They had a forum, but I cannot find it any more. The only other reference is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hw8qF9N_kcY showing the changes to Bal Isra and the interiors. It is a little too over the top for my taste, but I recall Helena having some promising ideas for quests. The lack of progress may indicate the project has folded. However the principle modder seemed young (a student) so perhaps work will be rekindled this summer.

Although you have not expressed an interest in such a mod, http://home.earthlink.net/~cyran0/TheRedoran.htm was designed to slow the player's rise in that Great House when the player uses a mod like Pax Redoran that adds so many new quests.

Well put! And I think modesty may not not even be required in this instance. :)

The problem, if that's what you'd call it, is that the LGNPC additions are so smoothly integrated that the casual observer might never know where they came from. I think there is plenty of Redoran love here.
