Regarding the size difference between Nords and Imperials...

I'm hoping that we don't have the massive difference in heights between the Nords and Imperials this time round. I can imagine some liked it, but for me it always bothered me as an Imperial walking into a tavern and feeling like a teenage boy compared to these 6'4 Nord women

I never understood why this was the image that popped into people's heads when they thought 'Nord'. The nose looks almost alien.

I've always played Imperial, purely because it just feels the most natural for obvious reasons, and also the fact that I don't feel like spending the whole game as a midget Dunmer with a height inferiority complex, but I've always been annoyed by the fact that as an Imperial it means I am by default a lot smaller than my Nord brothers, when they are both the closest related races to each other in the game.

Different heights for the same race?

To me the perfect thing would be for not all characters to be the same height. You could have two Nords, one 6'0 and the other 6'3. This would take away this problem of being an Imperial, walking through Skyrim and feeling more like the short kid and not the epic hero you're meant to feel like. At the same time, it would be nice If there was an option when creating your character to change the height of he/she. That way you could have an Imperial, who as the standard 'normal human' of the game, could be 5'9 or 6'4, to create a more realistic feel.

These are just some of my thoughts anyway.

I get the difference between Nords and Imperials, but what I got really mixed up in Oblivion was Bretons and Imperials. I literally couldn’t tell them apart from one another some times.

Maybe gender will be taken into account this time. I feel like each race had a counterpart in terms of height. As for the art work, I try to disregard concept art because often times its far more detailed or at least altered from the finished product.

I think...and I'm not 100% on this...but I think the Bretons were slightly more 'plump' than Imperials.

This is exactly my point though, The human races of Skyrim are all closely related, yet there's always this unrealistic look when every Nord is over 6'2 and every Imperial is an exact 5'10. I'd just like to walk around as an Imperial in Skyrim without feeling like a midget.

Playing a Bosmer and walking up to an Altmer must be scary. :P
