Surprisingly, I'm coming out in defense of ESO. I very much appreciate that regional names for gods (the pantheons of various races) and cultural names for gods (such as Mauloch being used rather than Malacath by Orcs). To me, it shows an attention to detail and a refusal to dumb down that Skyrim lacked. When I first began playing Skyrim, I was incredibly confused by the appearance of the Imperial pantheon in Skyrim, when there was already a Nordic pantheon in existence. Said pantheon was even referenced with Kyne and Alduin, but never explored.
However, this is not to say there's no good reason for keeping the Imperial names. As my friends have said, it would make a prospective mod less jarring if all Orcs say Malacath, and it may appear elitist to people who don't know the lore.
At any rate, given a recent discussion I had, I'd like to know what y'all think. If a mod were to include characters from other provinces, territories of other provinces, or new Orcish strongholds, what would you prefer: continued usage of Imperial/Aldmer names for Aedra and Daedra, or localized usage such as Mauloch(Malacath), Orkey(Arkay), and Jeffre(Y'ffre)?
