I regret choosing Light armor for my good guy.

Post » Sun Sep 29, 2013 11:25 am

When my characters master their main abilities, I usually want them to wear the best sets of armor to match their level of awesomeness.

However, my roleplay choices have left me with no options for my light armored Redguard.

He currently wears scaled armor which is badass but still very common.

He's a morally good warrior, so DB and TG are out. I also don't intend to do the MQ with him so Dragonscale armor isn't an option either. You might suggest I start the MQ for that purpose but I'd never do that. If I'm playing the role of the Dragonborn, there's no way I won't go all the way through.

That leaves me with stalhrim, but I'm not sure if light blue would look good on a Redguard.

I think stalhrim would look pretty good on a redguard. Try it out and post a picture? :)

Morag Tong armor?

With smithing improvements, really any armor can be viable even into higher levels. I take it you're not on PC, otherwise I'd recommend Immersive Armors mod which adds several sets that I use on light armor characters. They're really more like what medium armor would have been in other games.

Definately stalhrim.

Don't you have to do the TG quest to get it?

If you're roleplaying and you really want dragon scale armor then just get the dragon stone, talk to the yarl, kill the first dragon and then just roleplay that you don't absorb dragon souls and that you didn't hear the greybeards.

Why not Solitude Guard Armour? It's "scales" are similar to armour from dry places, and I find the red accents often complement redguards.

Hammerfell Garb & Redguard Boots aren't light armor. Notice how the Redguards now get alteration as a race bonus. Alteration give bonus for magic armor to characters without armor

For my good Redguards I usually just use Nazir's HEAVILY enchanted clothes. Apart from them...stalhrim would work.

What about Distroying the DB? You can get the outfit that way. Well if you like the look anyway.

Dawnguard armor is about the same as steel armor as far as AR goes. I'm talking about the best sets.

I think the game pushes the heavy armor on you. The light stuff is for the rabble, I guess. It's a shame that it does. I don't like lugging around a 30 plus pound cuirass.
