Release day preparations?

Aside from trying desperately to get "done" with some of the other games I've been playing recently? Nah, nothing.

After reading the replies so far I realize I'm an amateur in this. :)

I will have to make food and so on on my day off, I won't be gaming 24/7 for the coming weeks either, but 1 day off will be nice. Then I will play as much as the rest of my daily life allows. Thinking of the fact that I spend 40 hours at work each day and then my wife demands some attention, friends and familly and so on.. I will probably beat the game in the same amount of time as I did beat Skyrim... 8 months later! :D

Same boat only mine is a desktop, and it will be cutting it real close to get here. The place im buying from didn't have the water blocks for my cards. So a delay was issued, and it might be really close to release, like mabye the day before.

Where did you buy your laptop from?

I wish Costco had the meatball marinara hot pockets or the Nong Shim Black Premium ramen.
I guess I could go to Sam's for deli meat as there is a bigger variety of cheap cheese.

Probably try and get some mini pizzas and some type of portioned food squaeres

Well the family knows I will be on gaming vacation :nerd: starting at 11 PM 11/09/2015.

This concept was extensively explained to my wife :whisper:before we got married. :hugs:

Only happens about twice a year, besides the situation will be reversed when the Gilmore Girls Revival starts showing.

So it had better be blood :toughninja:or fire :obliviongate: for the first 48 hours. :nono:

After that I'll be fairly "busy" for the next two weeks. :hehe:

I have "requested" the day off, and I already get Monday, Wensday-Thursday off as well, so with any luck Fallout 4 will have a midnight (9pm sometimes instead of midnight) release and that way I can can get it all installed and patched for that morning to play it and Wensday - Thursday to play at the least.

My boss seems to be PMSing for a full month though, so no honest idea till the 7th, will I know if I accually have the day off for it.

Just hoping for the best, I used up my excuse of "family reuinion" so won't be able to use that reason for quite awhile. Oh wells, not like it ever happens anyways XD.

But for food, I plan to eat some hot pockets as I play.

I would love to say that, but since we got the carpet redone, no one is allowed to eat anywhere but in the kitchen -_-

:fallout:

I took the 9th and 10th off from work. I'm going to fire up the computer on the 9th and hope that Green Man Gaming sends me my Steam Key a day or so early so I can pre-load it. Then Tuesday morning I'm planning on doing nothing but playing Fallout 4. Hopefully my GTC 660 Ti can handle it.

Got the 10th off work as well as the 11th, and outside a small break for some can't miss uni classes I'm going to be playing nonstop from midnight release. In preparation for this I've stocked up on chips, meat, bread, cheese, dip, and tortillas for when I want to make a quesadilla. Drink wise I've got a lot of water and some unsweetened ice tea ready to go.

I'll do... pretty much the exact opposite of this.

Focus on Fallout each day and obsess over it. Try my best to find an early copy and dive into it with unreasonable expectations, which somehow Bethesda will meet. Just like I do every with every Bethesda game.

Since the game releases on a Tuesday and I can't take a day of work I actually don't want to play the game until Saturday because I want to spend a LOT of time in the game that day. But I prooooobably is going to create my character at least heh.

If any of you have the schwans delivery thing TRUST me; order some of the mini deep dish pizza things. You pop them in the oven and they are glorious. I am stocking up for the game.

The day of release I am treating my wife to go get her hair, and nails, shopping ect done... That way I can play Fallout 4 all day and she won't see how much I nerd out :)

I... CAN'T... WAIT!!! I have not been this hyped since Skyrim released.

Monday my wife and I spent a rare day off together. Over lunch I got to talking about the game and felt like a little kid describing it to her. She asked what would be so different about it after playing Fallout 3 for the last 7 years. As I explained it to her, I could tell by her bemused look that she found it a little comical how excited I was. She doesn't get it, but she indulges me and my quirks.

I'm writing my Masters and will have absolutely zero hours to play F4 when it comes out. It breaks my heart. :(

Finding a hour or two to play it, will be the same as trying to beat Tetris on level 500 - while having the [censored].

I've been building up my timebank so I can take about a week off. As for culinary provisions, that's always prepared.

I have some college work I will need to get down, but I have looked ahead and should be able to get a week's worth done early. Unfortunately there is one class I will have to show up in person for, but besides that I should be able to enjoy plenty of Fallout 4 that week.

Stay up Monday past midnight, to get on early on the release. Purchase and download from STEAM.

Sleep until 8 AM.

Wake up, restart PC after confirming download was successful and take a shower. Have a series of choice words and impotent threats towards STEAM, Valve, my internet provider and/or my PC if download wasn't successful, then grumpily redownload.

Then play Fallout 4.

Emerge from my house three weeks later, full beard, bloodshot eyes and malnourished.

Got a few more microwave dinners bought and put away for now, and made some lasagne and frozen it, just needs to be reheated and good to go, might last 1 week in total the stockpile of food not a big fan of beverages so thankfully no need to stock up on that just drink my water and coffee.

And everyone else in the house away visiting some family, i had work  as far as they know.

Some of you guys need to seriously look at what you eat lol. Proper home cooked food is the way to go, none of these sugary snacks or microwave meals! My game cave will be stocked with nutrition to give me the staying power to put in regular 6-12 hour gaming sessions. And as for beverages, it's H2O all the way ;)

Day before release: Stock up on pizza, potato chips, candy and soda.

Day of release: Forget to eat food.

Day after release".. get tummy ache from binge eating too much junk food after starving for a day.

Day after tummy ache: Begrudgingly stop playing fallout to go to the grocery store to buy something a bit healthier to eat.
