OK so no one is going to answer http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1115758-release-nehrim-at-fates-edge-english-version/page__view__findpost__p__16384240 so I downloaded the mod and have read over some of the stuff.
First question is that it says if copies my Oblivion folder (which is a great idea), but what if I have mods in there already? Will it copy all those loose files too? Or will it just copy the BSA and stuff that comes with the vanilla game.
I would really appreciate an answer to this - pretty please - I don't want to start the installer only to find that my computer is choking on copying the 35 gigs that is my current data folder.
I have made (awhile back) a copy of the vanilla data folder - If the installer does copy everything is there a way I can fool it to copy this back up instead?
Thanks - literally sitting on my hands waiting for an answer.
Psymon,
Really appreciate your persistence in asking those questions. As much as I want to play this mod, awesome work by the way and the modders deserve great praise, I cannot install until your questions get answered. I have a very solid "my world of oblivion" running and I just don't have the time to mess it up and re-install everything. Nor do I really have the time to do tricks like copy installations back and forth. As much as I like Oblivion, I like my other non-oblivion life even more (and it takes most my time : )
So, since I already have so many added mods that do not require massive changes to my installation, Elsweyr Deserts of Anequina (sp?) come to mind as just one great example (but, there are many others thanks to a vibrant modding community), that I will have a hard enough time finding time to play, I may have to pass on this mod.
Again, just in case I'm not being clear, I think this mod is an awesome achievement, but, it may be beyond "my" limitations. Unless it is easy to switch back and forth (which I think is, to some degree, is what Psymon is trying to determine). I'll have to wait until things become a little clearer. I may have to also take a pass on other similar mods that are on the way (the middle earth one as an example) due to similar issues.
Of course, in a few more years when I have retired (yeah, kinda dating myself : ), I may have enough free time to come back and enjoy all the great efforts that these modders have done. So, the loss will not be permanent.
Note that I did read through the readme and faq and did not see anything that would really answer most of Psymon's questions. Although, I'll be the first to admit that I could have missed the info.
Thanks,
Tarl
