There's too many of them. They're easy to kill but in such large numbers it seems like an impossible feat.

I killed them all without getting hit, so it isn't impossible. Just watch their movement and backtrack alot.

I know the only thing I hate about nehrim is the damn mines.

Alright, so I just finished playing for a couple of hours. Holy crap. Only complaint I have is I found one note still in German and somebody's dialogue subtitles were cut off from "Loading area..." so I had no idea what they were saying :D.

Just to let you know that there will still be non-essential books and notes in German, it took a lot of work just to get it this far.

As to the point of the one text cut off by "Loading area..." I think that is the only one that happens to. But I think if you have a save right before it and do it again it will not cut off the text because the areas are already in memory. I know it happens both ways. It also is not a quest breaking thing just more for immersion. Porim is just a pvssyrbox.

So.. are we to expect future updates later down the line?

How is everybody elses performance btw? Maybe it just is that powerhungry...

Anybody got some tips for improving performance?

I get pretty bad performance on my Athlon X3 440, GeForce 460GTX, 4GB Ram, Windows 7. 1680x1050, HDR, no AA.
15-30 fps when looking over the world outside the dungeon fx. Sometimes 20 fps inside the dungeon.

I have tried disabling/lowering many graphic-settings and most of them don't seem to do much really. I have all performance-tweaks enabled in Nehrim launcher.

Anybody got some tips?

What are you supposed to do after finding the 3 torches in the cave?

Do what the note said and I think you are missing a torch because you should have 4.

I may get slapped for not having read the readme, but I too am wondering about mod compatibility.

I don't want to lose the game I have going now (much time and energy invested), but want to try this out badly.

I was concerned about things like distant land and other such things from my current mod set up disturbing this. So the questions I have before I commit to the download is:
1. Does this require a fresh install?
2. Can this be played much like Mesogea where esm/esp will have engine look in new unique paths to get resources to present the world and therefor allow for other mods to remain installed (but not active)?
3. If I wanted to could I I create a new profile in Wrye Bash to run this game (with no other mods installed) and keep all my regular mods for Cyrodiil (yet deactivated)?
4. What about Dark UI (without the loading screens)? Is everything including the inventory and such redone?

I'd assume that some game play mods would be acceptable, but that would require testing. I'm thinking of mods I can't live without such as Togglable Quantity Prompt and Menu Escape. But I'd try it as plain (or fancy) as it is for a while before adding one thing.

I hope there are plans to update the texts still in German as alt-tabbing Oblivion is not a good thing making it hard to find out what a book says while playing.

thanks for any help in understanding and congratulations.

Stutter remover is working with it. Seems to help. Just install it like normal in the Nehrim folder.

So, I'm through the mine and done the first parts of the valley. Loving it so far, quests and events are definately in the "thinking new" region, and while it can sometimes be slightly bothersome, it wins back on the fact that it's so different. Also, Oblivion should have more open caves like this.

One question for everyone: Are LOD landscape "blurred" to you as well? I'm thinking it might be a feature, but it's quite annoying how nothing far away is really possible to distinguish. Pic: http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/9325/nehrimscreen0.png

Stuck again...

But this time on the rat quest. I blocked off the two rat holes but I didn't get a quest update. Instead my quest marker is green and pointing in the center of this room. In the center of this room is a gaint boulder blocked off by beams of wood.

You can turn the blur off. IIRC there is an options item somewhere in your inventory where you can do that. For me it was broken for some reason (everything was blurred no matter how close) so I had to turn it off anyway.

@Nextmastermind: Been some time since I played that quest, but (again IIRC) there should be four rat holes you need to block. The quest marker probably doesn't point to the holes, it just shows the room where the holes are.

Concerning the distance blurr open your inventory and then open the diary. In it at the bottom is a button called settings click it and there are several things you can do. First one is the distance setting.

Thanks for the tip about the blur/distance thingy. Of course, now when there's an option, I suddenly have second thoughts and can't decide what I like best... I hate myself sometimes <.<

If you are a he she will be a she, if you are a she he will be a he. His/her name will always be Kim.
