RELEASE NEWS!!!

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 12:15 am

This thread is only for news report, not for complaining!

As I read yesterday in the magazine PCaction (Germany) - report about full retail version:

- DX10/11 patch release should be simultaneous to C2 retail release

- ingame weapon setup is existing EDIT: only for SP confirmed, MP still open

- and much more, have no time at the moment -> it will be awesome

I, personally, would have imagined the dx11 patch would have been a day 1 too. Crytek probably aren't saying anything because they can't say for certain it'll be ready on March 22nd though.

Remember, this is cryteks first multiplatform, it wasn't ever going to go silky smoothly.

Yeah that's right, so "I" wrote "should"

And they are saying something:
In the magazine in a interview one of the 3 Crytek bros said definitly the patch will be ready on retail release

Okay thats good news! Did they happen to say what DX11 features they're using? Or if any other things will be improved over the beta/MP?

As I remember, nothing more about DX10/11

- beta/MP shall act no comparison concerning C2
- AI shall be extreme great ... but sure it's a program so sooner or later it would be predictable
- and much more, sorry I don't read all, I didn't buy the magazine I read it in a shop ... the report is about 12 pages

What do you mean with this? The MP in the final version will be different from the PC demo? And by that, I mean will it actually have different features on some things, or does the game only feel different because now we have all the weapons/modules/maps available?

- ingame weapon setup is existing

And here, are you talking about MP or SP? Because we already knew there would be the old weapon customization on the fly available on the single-player, but not on the MP.

Glad to see the DX11 patch available on release. :)

Either this will be awesome and live up what they're saying or it will just be 1 anti-climix after another. Either way PC gaming history is being made.

Not really. There have been lots of good games before and lots of awful ones. One more on the pile makes little difference.

I suppose what you consider history i guess. The release of any game is technically 'making history'.

The cryengine 3 may be useful, but the updates the unreal engine kind of nipped the enthuisiasm for cryengine in the bud considering how awesome PC games can look using an engine that the developers already know.

Since, let's face it, PC will become the focus of multiplatform game's graphical abilities from this year. Consoles are boring with regards to tech and the only way for devs to show that their game looks the best will be to make it look the best on PC. GDC showed the general attitude of developers, and it was extremely pro-PC.

Have you seen Hawken? Look it up on Youtube! Some of the people from project offset started a Mech Warrior game and posted up footage they say is from an office lan party. Game looks insane! Not sure if it will run on present hardware and no formats are confirmed yet although PC is very likely according to PCGamer.

Killzone2-trailer had success with raising attention, this is the actual trend.

Yeah this is all good but it is kinda weird how nothing is heard about this, it's the kind of stuff that it'd go viral on the internet the moment word got out. I'd like to see OP return and answer my questions, and if possible give us some kind of proof. Not to be ungrateful, but too many times have I seen people claiming all kind of stuff others wanna hear and then seeing they turn out to be trolls. I've tried searching for this all over and couldn't find anything, granted it's from a paper magazine so it can be a bit slower and hard to find so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt, but it is suspicious nonetheless.

edit: what do you mean euro mags and some sites? I haven't found anything, thought that PCAction was really the only thing reporting it. Can someone link me or give me some name?

Interesting Interview with footage about the AI

http://www.youtube.com/user/Gamestrust#p/u/1/JG-XaNz9gN0

This is also new to the forum I think

At any rate we must be due the announcement about DX11 in the next 2-3 days surely. Shogun 2 is also now delaying for a DX11 patch makes me wonder if Epic putting DX11 in Unreal has made developers want to future proof against an impending flood of UDK DX11 games.

Is that sandbox on the 360?

Action bubble. And I think it's PC.

In before the question! Don't try this at home!

Also, I just assumed because the xbox 360 was right there. For all i know that the footage was PC, or it was 360. IDK

So dx11 is a patch, seems it will more than likely just be tacked on effects that won't make much difference to the game visually =/

Yeah it's been talked about loads on this site.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVsT4D2_VTI

A bubble is like a little sandbox. So you have a number of bubbles in series to make a level.

A Crysis sandbox is huge we are talking miles. You could swim miles out to sea if you were so inclined. Or swim/boat around a half a mile worth of enemies.

If DX10/11 has to be patched in then, there is something very wrong with the game. It tells you DX10/11 was an afterthought and the game was not based on those features from the ground up. I canceled my preorder, and no, I'm not reinstating it. I just bought TDU2 and that was the WORST use of $40 I've ever spent. I'm not going to make the same mistake with Crysis 2.

Even when the game releases, I won't buy it unless an improved demo is released as well because if the game is going to be as crappy as the demo, then there's not point in buying the game.

That is a baseless assumption. Dx11 Effects can be very easily added, which is the reason why they can be patched it in the first place.

I assume, that they were just very low on time. They could have either delayed the release for a week, or patch it right on release like they do now.
