Release say: Camping on the streets!

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 5:16 pm

That's why I like being in Montreal or just Quebec or Canada in general.
There's no need to pre-order your collector's edition because all the stores will still have copies even weeks after the release date.
I don't think I've ever heard about a midnight in release in Quebec, I don't know about the rest of Canada.

I learned my mistake when I pre-ordered Morrowind's CE, thinking everyone would be rushing to the stores to get it. The Canadian Dollar was pretty weak in that period.. I paid 130$, including the shipping costs. Waste of money. I love Bethesda, but not enough to throw them an extra copy's worth of money. :P
My friend purchased his CE copy a month later at Future Shop for 50 or 60$. :P

So I'll be doing the same as I've been doing since Oblivion. Walk to the store on release day in the afternoon, pick up the copy I want and leave home.

Why pre-order? Ive always just walked in to gamestop day of and gotten the game no hassle. Hell, I even bought the Fallout 3 collectors out from under someone who did pre-order it.

Pre-order = game is sent the day before the release so it's in the mail early on release day before the stores open
Not pre-order = being forced to go to the game store later during the release day and being forced to meet people

Blast those evil store clerks who will most likely comment on your purchase and try to have discussion with you about the game.

Every game ive gone to a store to buy, I go in when I wake up (around 10am to 12pm) say "Can I get X.", have a small chat about how good or bad the game is while paying, walk out and go home. No hassle at all.

Plus I live in an place where pre-orders don't get in any earlier then the rest.

Exactly, I now find ordering online a simple and an enjoyable process.

In Store for me = In store cashiers laugh at me when I hand them the game I want to buy. :sadvaultboy:

Buy it at the store, probably either Wal-Mart or Target. I bought Morrowind and Oblivion at Electronics Boutique but the store now does not offer PC games, once it changed its name to EB games that is, at least the one in the mall where I live does not.

Can I pre-order and pick it up at midnight? I've always wanted to do a midnight release thing, and this could be it.

If the one in my mall is open all night or however that works , Sure. But I'll try to climb on the roof :toughninja: and spy in the Skylights. <-- Yeah Right  Naw I'll just wait My butt at home till like, 3 hours before they open . But I live in a rural area, so I don't think the wait Will be long. I have nothing but a bunch of Rednecks where I live, They are more worried about Picking up Some Deer pee then they are a game.

I really don't know my schedule that far off but its very likely me and a handful of my friends will be grabbing it at midnight.

Yes Lady Nerevar you can preorder the game at Gamestop and just walk in and pick it up at midnight basically. It is what I have done for multiple game releases.

1.Pre-Order
2. Go to sleep on 11-10-11
3. Wake up.
4. Go to school
5. Go to Gamestop (do you have to be a certain age to pick up a game?)
6. If I have to get my Dad to pick it up, I'll go home and tell him to pick it up on his way home.

If it is a M rated game the you'll have to be at least 18, or have someone with you that is (parent) or no sale, enjoy your refund

I won't be camping a hundred miles from home (nearest game store) nor will I be camping by my mailbox in November. I'm well over winter camping these days. I will wait until one shows up on my doorstep via UPS whenever Bethesda sends it to me. I more than likely will also pre-order an extra one for my hubby but they can deliver that one too and I have never gotten anything on day one when ordering it. I guess our mail dogs are slow that way up here.

I'll buy it from steam, if I can.

When I pre-ordered Oblivion, it was from EB Games. When I went to pick it up, EB Games had mutated into Gamestop. I ended up arguing with the clerk that, yes, I preordered it. Yes, I got the phone call that said it was in. No, I bought the pc version; stop trying to give me the 360 version unless its free. Yes, I have the receipt and yes, it shows I paid for the pc version.

I decided right then if I wanted to buy a physical copy, it would be from Amazon. Once they improved steam, and I found I liked using it, I'll go with steam.

I do hope we'll be seeing a full worldwide launch and not something like what happened to me with New Vegas where I had bought and received the retail version of the game and still had to wait several days for Steam to be allowed to play it as 'it wasn't released yet' (while the US was already playing the game). :brokencomputer:

it depends on the state doesn't it? I know the age of maturity for SC is 17, gotta get my sister or parents to pick it up, but I would be 17 in like a month

For a moment, before I open this thread I thought that you would asking from Bethesda to put transferable bedrolls in Skyrim so we can roleplay as a homeless person.
