Re Release

I've only played 1 because it came out on gameboy advance. A great game I thought and I was just wondering shall you be re releasing either of these oldies, yet goodies onto the handhelds (DS or PSP?)

It might be tricky, since, while not really using the D&D ruleset, the games are set in Forgotten Realms, and gamesas no longer has the license. Of course, they might simply get away with renaming the locations, races, etc. to non-D&D ones. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

I think that they could just make a whole DA spin off instead of a remake. The PSP is begging for this tye of game with only Monster Hunter and Untold Legends being the only two of its ilk. People are always going to want to play these types of games. They scream co op gameplay, and at the end of the day we all want to play with our friends. Xbox Live is great, but sharing a couch and jabbing your partner in the ribs over a gaff will always be the way a game needs to be played. Image

That would be my take on this. However, they MIGHT get Atari to sign off on a retro/respin of the game for a cut of that action. I'm sure Atari could use the cash...

I don't think gamesas holds the rights to the DA name right now. The rights may revert back to them in about a year but for now Snowblind has the rights. (75% sure)

Interesting... One wonders if Snowblind could be convinced to allow something to happen. The biggest problem, I think isn't the Dark Alliance part, it's that it's set in the Forbidden Realms world, which belongs to Wizards of the Coast and thereby Hasbro, which cut a deal with Atari to get the control of the rights back in their possession back 3 years ago. You'd have to deal with Atari, I suspect, on anything that might come from that space, save the stuff that was already published. Yanno...a re-release might not be a bad idea if you could modernize the stuff.
