I think I might go for The hungry cat- the hunter (cant remember his name right now, but it wasnt Garfield) Sounds fun!

No its just that we have different aspect of what GOD - gods is. Thats why I dont pay much attention about the religious system in any game. Because if I see that as an RP player and immersive experience, follow the lore of the game... its a kind of virtual acceptance of that reality... So I dont even care about the religions in any game. If for example azura asks my help, I will think about it or avoid her... (sorry little azure, not time for u) it goes like that... lol
In ancient years, our ancestors have 2 meaning in the word God and gods.
Gods = those who run fast (implementing the today so called UFO) thats why many races across the planet have myths and stories that they came from the skies. Also Katzit race (kynokefalos) are from Seirios.
The one GOD = the one who is everywhere in the universe, at the same time and without the need of running fast.
Thats why in ancient years, we had so many gods and thats why philosophers wrote "respect the gods" not worship them... The iron generation did that and turn into blood races, followed the wrong path.
Hircine the Daedric prince of Hunt , Father of lyncathropy
Considering even the Tribunal and Ur practically bowed down to him (or the supposed reincarnation), I'd say this is true But then, that is probably largely due to the shock of him returning.
That is why I like Azura. I don't know if she was meant to be that way compared to the other Daedra, but she is more "behind the scenes" where you don't even realize she is influencing events. It was never actually established whether the player character in Morrowind was Neravar reborn, but it got Azura what she wanted and that is all that mattered in the end.
It will be interesting how the Dunmer and Azura are represented in a future TES game. The Velothi made the move to Morrowind because of the three Daedra, Azura being one of them. And her motivation behind the Neravar and removing the Tribunal's hold on power was partly to tie up loose ends of the past (Dagoth Ur), but also to remove the illusion of the Tribunal gods. Perhaps there will be a move by the Dunmeri to return worship to the older gods.
The pros and cons of the Addons discussions might fit you better then?
IMO, it is best to stick with the Eight Divines in-game, and keep real-world religion separate.
Personally, I'm a strong Christian, but Jesus is as absent in this game world as he is in the Star Wars universe.
Talking about adding "real world gods" to the game. This is an RPG, if you want to believe in whatever go ahead, your character can babble on about that stuff all day. Maybe someone will RP Jesus, give the sermon on the mount in zone chat.
Er isn't the main plot basically us vs one of the gods?
Well we know that there will be return to the worship of three good daedra by fourth era , I don't think we wil have anything like that in ESO at least no attempt that will be succesfull . But then again I remember that devs were taking about pretender to the Tribunal being a part of the story in ESO so there will be some shacking.
*cough* Anakin *cough* Well kind of...
I think I might go for The hungry cat- the hunter (cant remember his name right now, but it wasnt Garfield) Sounds fun!
I would think that you would pay respects to them all even the Daedra to be safe rather than just pick one unless you are a part of a specific order such as the Vigilents of Stendar who have not been formed yet for anyone getting ideas.
Walking the streets of Mournhold and reciting Vivec's sermons to all who would listen (and some who run away in terror)... Wasn't it the plan once?
If you call daedra gods it is.
My characters do the bidding of Akatosh.
ESO is 2E, and was more referring to a TES:VI if we ever get one. I know the Tribunal is more or less done (I *cough* persuaded Almalexia to step down from power just the other day actually ), but is there any reference to what happens after this? I've barely touched Oblivion, but I don't recall any specifics in Skyrim. There was some talk about what the Dunmer have done since Morrowind (mostly getting screwed by Red Mountain and Argonians), but I don't recall anything in regards to their thoughts on the Tribunal and/or a conscious effort to return worship to the original 3.
Perhaps I will play the Dragonborn DLC again to kill time until ESO...
My altmer character will be worshipping Auriel. If I ever make a Nord then it would be Shor.
Picking just one god and learn about his/her ways and then stick to that is a good way of getting into the lore, as an roleplayer, and then learn about more lore from other players.
And that's the best way to learn that stuff and you couldn't habe a better attitude towards it
Dragonborn talks a bit about that mostly elder Othreloth in the Temple and that one ex-priestess that married Nord miner.
also this doesn't have to do with anything but because I will probably will never be able to use that quote.
"The gods don't do a damn thing. Do they even exist? How could anyone tell? Daedra Lords, sure. They exist. They do things. Bad things, mostly, but things you can see. The gods? They don't do a damn thing. So why do we build big chapels and sit around and mumble, and ask them to save us from this and that? It's stupid. And chapels and priests and folks groveling on their knees, they're stupid, too."
The videos are made from the POV of the race that they are talking about. One video, Race X is the best, the next about race Y, says race X is not so great, race Y is, then race Z praise their own race while down X and Y. One have to keep it in mind, over all it is good, a few little mistakes about the "facts" -- it is like History 101 before someone read the wikis for more detail info.
This is a great thread, I love religion lore is TES! It's my biggest reason for my liking of the Khajiit (As I'm not all that into cats or anything). It would seem I'm not alone in this. My next choice will be a Nord, I find the story of Talos really interesting too.
Reading the thread, obviously there are many people that know much more than this one. Not that I didn't already know this.
