No religion?

For me it's the worship of Sithis and the Night Mother, respect for Nocturnal and Molag Bal, and resentment toward Meridia and Arkay

Not sure if this would be brilliant roleplaying or obnoxious. I kind of want to see someone do it, though.

Except that theory doesn't work if you take a look at their Bosmer video where they talk how bosmers are amazed by simple carpentry and say " Some of the bravest Wood Elven warriors use wagon wheels as shields, or wooden buckets as “impressive” headgear." stuff taken directly from first edition of PGE which was a big propoaganda piece that presents everyone other then Imperials as barbarians. I have hard time imagining Bosmers being proud of wearing buckets on their heads.

That's where you'll find it. Dragonborn takes place on Solstheim and Raven Rock is a Dunmer town.

Didn't read all the posts to see if someone has mentioned this, but:

The main antagonist of ES:O would be considered by our standards ' god like ' in a mythical sense with a cult of followers and twisted beasts to compliment. But I'm sure you already found that out by now ;)

True. But i just want to hold off the highly probable argument that may erupt when some truly devout soul takes umbrage at the idea of their real world beliefs being joked about. Hopefully that doesn't happen here, but i prefer not to tempt fate in that regard.

@ the bold, exactly my point. People get crazy about their religion. Personally i could care less, i'm agnostic and feel ppl should believe what they want. the problem comes when they decide their way is the right way. its all downhill quickly from there. It is just best to leave any real world baggage that doesn't need to be lugged firmly out of ingame talk of gods and goddesses imo.

Maybe a flawed view that expects the worst, but meh, its all i got.

What set of lore is? In this case tho, TES lore is based pretty much off of that of AD&D from back in the day. And that's a pretty decent foundation to build a set mythical ingame beliefs on.

The Daedra and the Aedra, the Eight Divines, are actually the same or where the same in power. The ones that chose to make the world sacraficed much of their power in the process.

I don't think any of the Tamriel religions are really monotheistic, are they? There's usually a series of major gods, maybe some minor ones, saints to give nods to, ect. Plus the Daedra princes, but not many worship them openly.

Not to mention some of the races have cultural interpretations, which may or may not be referring to the same being depending on interpretation (Lorkhan/Shor, Auriel/Akatosh, Kynareth/Kyne, ect)

Most human races worship the Eight Divines in some form (not sure about Redguards?) plus some incarnation of Lorkhan.

The Tribunal is the primary Dunmer religion at that time.

Auriel for the High and Wood elves. Also Y'ffre for the Wood elves.

Malacath is a major figure to the Orcs.

I'm not sure about Argonians, do they actually worship the Hist?

Khajiit pantheons just confuse me :P

There's a lot more and more specific that's just all I could remember off the top of my head.

The Skaal seem to be the closest, but they're animistic.

What? There are 8 good gods, 2 kinda good gods and many evil gods. ESO has the most gods ever witnessed in a video game.

Redguards chief deity is called Ruptga or Tall Papa

Yes the Argonians do worship The Hist.

Khajiit chief is Alkosh which is basically a variation or piece of Auriel

The Hist themselves worship Sithis which is neither good nor evil, it's the god of "I don't give a crap".

Sheggorath is the way and the life (or death). Worshipping any other is like tossing money into a well and making a sammich. Turn not ye eyes away, or a poodle will eat your liver. Trust not the argonian unless he has scales.
