(RELz) Darknut's 1st Person Enhanced

Post » Sat Mar 27, 2010 11:06 am

Darknut's 1st Person Enhanced does not conflict with betterbodies ... it requires betterbodies ( the regular version .. not the pluginless version .... & if Mash is telling you have missing files you have it installed wrong

I'm still looking in to the gloves ... but they don't glitch on me ...

TEStool is dangerous in the hands of a veteran & downright destructive in the hands of a noob ... I would advise you to avoid it totally.

Ok thanks.

I reinstalled morrowind again, very carefully. Mash still shows the armour file as red, and that tribunal and bloodmoon is red for the armour file. I wont use TES Tool anymore, BUT, before reading your suggestion of never using TES Tool, I accidenally went on TES Tool to change the load order. Is that bad?

How is the installation bad? Is it a mod conflict? Texture conflict? I used some meshes from Clothiers of Vvanderfall, some of your clothes/armour/creatures textures, and probably some meshes and textures for other things. Im using the Code Patch for morrowind, unofficial patch, MWE, MGE, MSWE and etc... it wouldn't change the 1st person enhanced mod...

Im using Better Bodies 2.2, with clean version, no nudity, with plugins.

IMHO it a bad plan just to arbitrarily clean mods .... especially if you don't know whats going on under the hood in a given mod .... & most people don't ... this maneuver almost always cause problems.

I suggest you get MLOX to sort your load order ..... & only clean a mod that's is causing a problem & "needs" to be cleaned.
& guess what a lot of times a mod can be a little dirty & still work perfectly .... it all depends on the particular mods you have installed & their interaction with each other.

About the Wyre Mash "red" error your getting with DN_1st Person Enhanced:

Wyre Mash:.... from the manual ... Red: A file that shares a modification date/time with another file ? with both files being selected ..... MLOX should fix this when it sorts the load order.

I also suggest you use Wyre Mash to merge your "leveled list"

From Wrye Mash Help Guide:
Icon Colors (square icons)
Red: Some files in the package are missing from the data directory.

Ok I took your suggestions, used Mlox, created levelled list, but I still have the red Icon problem for the armour esp file.

The icon colour for your armour esp is red.
It appears the Tribunal.esm and Bloodmoon.esm in the master list for DN_1st_Person_Armor.esp has red icons too.

I understand that if the text line is red, it means the load order is the same with a different mod. But that's not what I'm experiencing, sorry If I incorrectly stated so. The square icon is red.

One last question, what is a good GSMT cleaner, and what is the best application to make levelled lists? Thanks.

Try Redating the mod...
Highlight it, Right Click, File, Redate
Change the date by a few hours from the original date.

Wrye Mash is best for Leveled List merger:
- Copy "Mashed Lists.esp" from the mopy\Extras folder to your Data Files folder.
- Select the mods you want to load from the Mods tab.
- Right click on "Mashed Lists.esp" in the Mods tab and select "Import: Merged Lists".
Make sure it loads last, or near last, in your Load Order.
Disable any older merged lists before importing Mashed Lists.

For cleaning GMSTs:
TESTool will automatically clean the GMSTs for you. Just use the "Clean esp/esm" function. (not the Just Fix It button)
Or try the very easy to use, http://code.google.com/p/escog/
To do it manually, try Enchanted Editor.

Thank you,

But changing the date of the mod doesnt change the colour of the icon back to normal. It's still red. I still get the glove glitch. A red Icon, as in missing file, nothing to do with load order?

The Icon is red for DN_1st_person_armour.esp
It appears the Tribunal.esm and Bloodmoon.esm in the master list for DN_1st_Person_Armor.esp has red icons too.

According to the manual, it means missing file. Changing the date doesn't make a difference neither, because it still appears red, and the gloves are still glitched.

You are right that the date thing is only if the entire line is red.

I think what you need to do is update you master list for the mod.

1. When on mod tab, highlight the mod in question. You will see the masters listed on the right side.
2. Click anywhere in the master list box. It will ask you if you want to update the masters. Click yes.
3. Remember to push the save button down at the bottom. You boxes should now turn green, hopefully.

BTW, my DN_1st_person_armor.esp also needed updating, only it was orange, not red.

EDIT: Looking at your problem again, red might indicate that you don't have the Tribunal and Bloodmoon esms in your load order. Have you verified that those are installed? You will need those for this mod to work.

Yes I have Bloodmoon and Tribunal installed, fully patched.

I put them in correct load order too, with Mlox.

I tried your suggestion. It didn't fix the gloves glitch, unfortunately. Maybe that file needs to be reuploaded? corrupt?

Sorry to double post... but does anyone else have a glitch with wearing gloves and then fighting in hand to hand mode?

Just asking... maybe it's just me? I downloaded the mod from PES.

EDIT:

Ok sorry :/ for my post.

I hope someone is still active at this thread...
My problem is kind of weird... when I install this mod, everything works just fine, the animation are ok, no weird hand problems etc. What DOES annoy me and, in fact, makes the game unplayable, is that the reaction time of my keyboard slows down, and one push of the forward button makes my character move forward for about 10 seconds :-s Also, this problem is NOT fixed by uninstalling the mod. the animations go, but the problem stays. does anyone know how to fix this?

Do you have MGE? Try enabling the "Input lag fix", on the Misc tab IIRC. Also, I seem to remember having this problem when I used FPS Optimiser, I think setting Morrowind to use a higher than normal priority caused it.

OK, finally decided to give this a go as it sounded too good to pass up on.

First of all, i love the new animations, and it looks great used with your first person helms too.

But for some reason i cant see my chest atall. Ive enabled all esp's and adjusted the FOV, anyone have any ideas?

yea, I'm using fps optimizer... and now that you mention it, I have set the game's priority hugher then normal... guess I will try lowering the priority back to normal, and see what happens.

on the subject of the mod, it's a great work, like we should expect from Darknut :) only reason I'm not using it is because I don't like my screen shaking up and down so much, and setting FOV of 90 will lower my fps... still, I'm giving it a 10 :P keep it up Darknut!

Id hear some great things about this mod, but since my PC is kind of old I didnt want to have any mods that might rob me of a few FPS but after seein git in perosn its so much more inmersive like that and I love the way seeing the screen shake and your character′s arms make you forget the "steadycam" experience first person was, Thank you so much for your efforts Darknut

Is it possible to turn off bobbing sometimes? It makes taking screenshots and in game movies harder.

Are you using a best race? Because of their posture the chest isn't visible.

1st person bodies are, by default, Male Nords (I think its Nord). You will need to save, exit, and re-load before the proper body is applied.

Are you wearing any clothes or armor? A lot of clothes and armors will not show up in 1st person and will actually cause your chest to disappear if you wear them. Some special items that use the chest slot can also cause your chest to dissapear.

I hope some of these help. They are just things that I've noticed and read many times.

I'm still around! ... just no time for fun & games this time of years ....

You can't turn the bobbing on & off
I decided to make the chest visibility not as much a priority .. it still should work on a lot of the clothes & armor if you set the FOV to 90 or 100

I love your mod. Seeing a massive blunt weapon(my favs), occupying whole screen and bobbing at the same time is amazingly immersive.

I did manage to get the chest for Westly's half races working with this mod. I'd have to boot up my desktop to get the details (its not much at all), but I think it was just copying one of the body parts and renaming it f_chest.1st or something like that.

I would take a look at the body parts added by the Darknut's mod (the ones ending in .1st) so you know which body parts need '.1st' matches.
