1st Person Enhanced By Darknut 12-17-09

Version 1.2

re-did the crossbow animations ... Artistika brought an issue to my attention ... its fixed now & I think the crossbow animation is better ingame overall ..


This mod replaces the 1st person animations with the 3rd Person animations.

The affect is more realistic 1st person.


I decided to focus this mod more on the animations instead of the 1st person view.
its really impossible to get the camera in a position that works for everything so its better just to leave it close to default.

using FSS_OPT to set the POV to 90 or so will let you see you chest with most armor but not all ...

this is totally optional & NOT required


Due to the posture of the beast races you won't be able to see their chest.

I didn't do the clothes yet but if you have Betterclothes 1.1 some of them will show up.


Morrowind won't allow the Swimming animations to run in first person. ...
I put them in & the game actually prompts you to remove them!

ISSUES or incompatibilities or ....

There is a slight conflict with Yacoby's fast travel mod ... the mod still works but the accuracy is a little off so you don't always end up where you should.

If you think of it in a roll playing way its acually kind of fun ... just look at it like your not very good at the fast travel spell :-)

Also I suggest that you istall fast travel & get it set up "ingame" before installing this mod.


There is one very bizarre issue that I have yet to figure out ... for some reason this mod makes the sun glare disappear???
I'm pretty sure its a something in the bodies ... not the armor or clothes ... I will figure it out eventually.

Installation:

Copy these files to the MW Data Files/Meshes/ Directory


This is REQUIRED

DN_1st_Person_Armor.esp


one or the other of these is REQUIRED .. NOT both


DN_1st_Person_Bodies.esp if using Liztail's newbeast

DN_1st_Person_Bodies-AS.esp if using Alienslof's Better Beast


If you don't like the new animations just delete these files & the game will load the vanilla ones from the Morrowind.bsa

Question.
I use Slof's Better Beasts, but if I don't play as Khajiit/Argonian can I still use this with my humanoid character?
Or is LizTail's Beasts required regardless.

Actually it should work ... originally I had the camera moved up and back & Slof's didn't work right .... but I ended up with the camera just a little bit different than vanilla. ..... I never tested Slof's again though.


EDIT I spoke to soon ... Slof's won't work at all at the moment because of the paths in the esp's

I'll make a patch for Slof's ...

Based on you mentioning the swimming, I presume the idea is that while the character swims, we can see the arms move in the swimming motion ( if it would work), right?
To what else does this apply?

Everything. Watch the video's linked on PES. You can see the chest while you walk around and everything.

Yeah, I've been using this since one of the BETAs ages ago (sorry Darknut, don't know if I ever reported anything to you about it; I honestly forgot all about it, all of the new movement eventually became so natural to me that I didn't even notice it any more. Playing with a fresh installation the other day seemed so...flat. Eww.)

Running, jumping, they are all fine but when I run with a two handed battle axe, the axe covers almost %70 of the screen, leaving only the left-side available. Other than that, it looks really wonderful, adds so much to the atmosphere to the game.

By the way, I can't see my body like you do in your Youtube videos. I can see my hands but not the body. And I have just installed Better Bodies just for this mod to my almost-unmodded game. What can be the reason for it?

My game crashes instantly when I load a save or start a new game when I have this mod installed along with CanadianIce's Robe Replacer. Disabling the robe replacer solves the crash.

No warnings show up in the warnings.txt file.

If you switch to 3rd person view, you'll see that that's exactly the way the player runs with a two handed axe.

You need to use the FPS Optimizer and change a setting on it in order to see your chest in first person.

I thought I had CanadianIce's Robe Replacers installed ...but I just looked & I don't ...... I'll check it out


EDIT well I did have ices robes installed after all ... I Just overlooked it ....... I'm using the IceNioLivRobeReplacerPLUS.esp ...no problems ... of course 1st PE is loaded after Ice's robes

@ this point I still don't know what causing it ... I do know its the better bodies somehow ...... because it doesn't do it with vanilla meshes.

I plan on doing a side by side comparison of the NIFS & KF's but that is going to be time consuming & tedious .... I will do it after I finish My luggage mod ( the mod I'm eyeballs deep in at the moment )

That def could be a possibility ..... It first I thought that maybe it was a camera issue since I had to add the camera node to the animations ( among other things) ... but @ this point I don't think that has anything to do with it.

it all about the hands ...somehow

Hands don't show up at depth buffer sometimes. I think Morrowind renders them in a separate pass and it is linked to alpha.

As for sun glare shader, the problem is occlusion. How can we know if the sun is visible or not? Peachy will know.

PS. Depth buffer should help us. But applying glow on a target position on screen, even I can do that. Masking it with depth buffer, I am not sure. But if I do, there will be god rays too. :)
PPS. I love your mod Darknut. Hand covers eyes in blight, but according to wind direction. Is that included in third person animations or you added it?
