does one of these mods add a flame less torch? I walked into the IC Market area and I see some guards carrying lanterns and some carrying what look like torches but with out flames. here is a picture of my character on the left holding a normal looking torch and a watchwoman holding the flame less looking torch.

OK that was weird i went back to play just now and it turns out that they are normal torches. The flame animation was just missing.

saw this instruction on the 1st page of this thread:

"BSA Loading and BSA File Date

- Do not rename the bsa's, they are named correctly and will load as needed."

i am going to install fcom again, and want to know if i need to rename the MMM.bsa to FCOM_Convergence_Mart'sMonsterMod.bsa

i plan on using oblivion mod manager to create>add archive>create omod for MMM

thanks.

You do, unless you use TheNiceOne's OMOD Installer - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24646 <-- follow these instructions as you create the MMM OMOD, please...

Please, do not mix installation instructions either... If you use my guide to install FCOM, stick to it. Going between it and the instructions here will only serve to confuse you. If you are going to try out the new BSAs, follow the instructions here. The MMM BSA instructions are explained here as well: opening post, MMM ReadMe, my guide, whichever, they all say the same thing.

Where can I find a Dragonborne Cuirass for my character?

Spoiler
I read there is one on a corpse in Cracked Wood Cave but after clearing all of the goblins out I can't find the cuirass or the corpse.

When you go through the OMOD Installation, make sure you choose to have the BSA renamed for the FCOM install.

When I installed it with OBMM it didn't change the BSA name. I had to do it on my own.

I have finally looked at the script. I meant to do that a while ago.

The script only triggers "FCOM installation mode" if it detects FCOM or OOO (and the user chooses the FCOM option.) If neither FCOM nor OOO is found, that option is not given. If FCOM installation is chosen, toward the end of the installation, the user should be given the option of renaming the MMM BSA to a number of alternatives.

well that;s the tricky part then, isn't it, b/c the FCOM install calls for MMM to be installed before any FCOM components are, hence the niceone's OMOD installer not going to detect any FCOM in the install.

so, if the FCOM install option isn't given, how can the user make sure the the MMM.bsa (and any other relevant file) is renamed for an FCOM install?

Why not just rename it manually if it hasn't been for some reason? But you should have installed OOO before MMM so if Tomlong is correct you should get the renaming option.

That's not true. MMM should be installed after OOO.

Okay...? I said that the script looks for FCOM and also prompts if it finds OOO installed. OOO, in your case, will be installed, so you will have the option of doing the FCOM install.

yeah it gave me the option to do the FCOM convergence Mart's Monster Mod bsa or the dummy esp. But it only named it MMM so i had to change it to the one that works.

The dummy ESP option would leave the BSA named MMM.bsa. You may have made a mistake. The important things, however, is that the BSA is renamed.

in the first FCOM post in this thread, i notice the "recommended install order" puts francesco's creatures items 4.5 before OOO, and War Cry after OOO, while a bit further down in the official post, the "Quick Start Install" order puts OOO, War Cry, and the War Cry patch before Franceco's leveled creatures items 4.5

so, just want to get clarity on which order is correct. it looks like OOO, based on the official FCOM home page. thanks

The order on the page I linked for you earlier works. Just use that. In the meantime, I will look over the first post and try to figure out where you are pulling the conflict from...

Edit: There is only one reference to an install order in the first post. The other thing is just a list. When people mention "order", that's the order. You should be safe always following the "guide" labeled with "order" over casual references.

here's the part of that post that confused me:

"Recommended install order:

Unofficial Oblivion Patch
Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch (if applicable)
DLC's + Patches (if applicable)
Francesco's Creatures-Items 4.5 (optional)
OOO version 1.33 full patched to OOO 1.34 beta5 (required)
Oblivion WarCry patched to 1.085b (optional)"

followed by

"QUICK START
=============

Install
Wrye Bash, OOO 1.34 beta5 (patch requires OOO 1.33 Full. Full version only ATM), Oblivion WarCry , WarCry 1.085b patch, Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items 4.5,"

the 2nd post offers a different install sequence, so from reading it, i wasn't sure if i needed to install francesco's before OOO, and Wary Cry either before or after OOO

PS- the link to OMOD-ready OOO on the FCOM page is dead

http://www.filefront.com/error.php?errno=320

but i am confident i got the correct one (OOO_133_Complete.7z) from http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=3953
b/c it has an omod conversion data folder in the archive

ps- should i install the OOO 1.34 BETA 5 Patch in the same way i installed OOO_133- create>add archive in OMBMM?

That is not the install order. That is just a list of what to install. You can ignore it since you have everything.

You have downloaded the correct version of OOO. Don't worry about that. You can do what you have been doing to create the OOO OMOD. However, when you create the OMOD, in the OMOD creation window, click 'Edit script' and add the following:
DontInstallPlugin "OOO-Waterfish.esp"

If DialogYesNo "Do you want to install OOO's water fish option? (Warning: It can have a significant affect on FPS. Do not install this if using a weak CPU.)" "OOO 1.34b5"
InstallPlugin "OOO-Waterfish.esp"
EndIf

The above script gives you the option of (not) installing the Water Fish plugin. It can take quite a toll on weaker CPUs (or stronger CPUs supporting a heavily modified game.)

Hello, commencing my first time installing FCOM, wanted to clarify an inconsistency. I'm installed Frans, and the FCOM Cheat sheet at http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html mentions to include Lyrondor's Combat Behavior, while the FCOM home page at http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/convergence.html does not mention this option. Should I be including it?

Also, I plan to eventually use Enhanced Economy, which apparently isn't compatible with Living Economy. If I include Living Economy at the moment, will it be easy to uninclude it later when I switch to Enhanced Economy?

Yes. Remember, a lot of the site's docs are out-dated. The cheat sheet is one of the more recent docs.

thanks for the tip re: the waterfish

ok- i understand your point that this is just list of what to install: "Install
Wrye Bash, OOO 1.34 beta5 (patch requires OOO 1.33 Full. Full version only ATM), Oblivion WarCry , WarCry 1.085b patch, Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items 4.5,"

however, i still see a difference though in install order from what's in this thread:

""Recommended install order:

Unofficial Oblivion Patch
Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch (if applicable)
DLC's + Patches (if applicable)
Francesco's Creatures-Items 4.5 (optional)
OOO version 1.33 full patched to OOO 1.34 beta5 (required)
Oblivion WarCry patched to 1.085b (optional)
Bobs Armory 1.1 (optional)
Armamentarium and Armamentarium Artifacts (optional)
Mart's Monster Mod 3.7b3 (required)
COBL (optional)
COBL Races (optional)
FCOM 9.9 + supported add-ons (add-ons optional)""

and that posted here:http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html

specifically, the "Recommended install order" on this thread places Francesco's Creatures before OOO, and War Cry (and the optional Bobs Armory 1.1 and Armamentarium and Armamentarium Artifacts) before MMM, while the order (dated 03/27/2009) at devnull.sweetdanger suggests OOO, MMM, Francesco's Creatures, and then War Cry, followed by Bob's Armory

edit-- i am not trying to be willfully obstinate or thick, rather, seeing differing install order sequences at the official FCOM sources creates cognitive dissonance. i know this thread states that the fcom homepage doesn't hold up to date information but it also states "In the interim please use this post in unison with the FCOM Homepage." i therefore wonder if the install order at the FCOM site at devnull.sweetdanger is out of date.

anyway, right now, i am installing OOO via OBMM, and have not yet installed Francesco's- ok?
