R/S/E Remakes

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:07 am

The unofficial Pokemon thread is locked because of post-limit. Anyways B/W has really blown me away graphically and gameplay wise. Remakes of the R/S/E games would be a dream come true.

Alot of people on the forums hate gen 3. Personally it was my favorite.

Maybe it was just the fact that it kept me sane when i got my tonsils removed

Red/Blue and Fire Red/Leaf Green were two generations apart, along with Silver/Gold and Soul Silver/Some Gold.

Compared to B/W, they are technically lacking, and lacking in all of the great multiplayer in B/W.

Edit: I really like gen3!

Also:
Red -> Fire Red was Gameboy Phat -> GBA a technical leap of two consoles.
Gold -> HeartGold was Gameboy Color -> DS a technical leap of two consoles.
Ruby -> Ruby Remix.... GBA -> 3DS? Not sure how Pokemon would benefit from 3D, and Ruby still looks quite good unlike Red/Gold.

I dunno why people clamor for unnecessary remakes all the time, I guess the DS really does print money. :shakehead:

Just pointing out that Nintendo has made remakes of the series after 2 pokemon generations. Not like it benefits me in anyway, I only have the GBA as my most advanced gameboy, and I'm very content with my pokemon Crystal right now (yes, I know it's color). Still need to get my A team to level 100 so I can cream the competition in stadium 2 and a baby team (which will be [censored] annoying as balls).

Besides the huge technical leaps and multiplayer improvements? Ya, I guess a remake would be unnecessary... (sarcasm)

I wouldn't mind a remake, 3rd gen were the only games I never played.

Hoenn is my favorite region, and I personally wouldn't mind remakes. It means more fluff for the Fanon Dex I've been helping make at any rate.

I would love to see cinematics like the ones they did in B/W.

What huge technical leap? The game is mostly sprites anyways. This isn't like jumping from B&W to full color.

The cut-scenes, the fully moving pokemon during the entire battle, 3d buildings, excellent battle animations, sound quality, wifi battles, GTS, etc.

A full 3D Groudon vs Kyogre battle would be epic. Just like the summoning of the dragons in B/W.

I didn't like that generation. It's easily the worst of the lot. Actually the only pokemon games I can say I don't like.

I don't see the need for a remake. You can currently experience all 5 Pokemon generations on a Nintendo DS Lite if you play the remakes of the first two generations. There's no actual need to remake Generation 3 other than remaking for the sake of remaking. Then again, Fire Red and Leaf Green were technically remade for the hell of it as well because you could play Game Boy games on the GBA.

I have nothing against Ruby and Sapphire... I certainly didn't hate the games, but I can't say I liked them as much as Gold and Silver or the originals. I'm sure I'd play the remakes if they came out and I had a 3DS at that time.

To be fair, the pokemon sprites were pretty terrible in the original games; I think they were the games that benefit most from a remake.

Darn kids and your remakes. FFVII this, Pokemon that. If a game is readily available on an inexpensive platform, no remake necessary. Developers should be focusing on new games that are better than their predecessors. /minirant :meh:

If a remake will make money, then they will most likely make it, which is fine with me.

What makes the third generation the worst?
