Do we?

I don't, I'd much rather see them continue to do new games instead of rehashing old ones.

Who is "we?" Be honest. Write your post like this: "Dear Bethesda I want to see my beloved good old games like morrowind or battlespire or arena remastered PLEASE!!!!"

I would like to see the Oblivion and Morrowind engines remastered for 64 bit operating systems. The Open MW team is attempting to do just that, but honestly, the Oblivion engine seems worst than Morrowind and there is no code patch or exe.opt for Oblivion, and I doubt the community will ever tackle the Oblivion engine.

It would be nice to have a good modern engine that the community could build from. So, yeah, I would like Bethesda to remaster the engines. Of course it will likely never happen unless the community builds it, but still I would like to see it.

Beyond engine remastering, I would rather see the community tackle any modding needed to "remaster" the games themselves.

I have absolutely no objection to this. What I dislike is people presuming to speak on my behalf. I dislike this use of the word "we." I dislike it when people attempt to enlist the rest of us in personal crusades: "We need to tell Bethesda what we want." There is no "we" here.

Maybe I'm just too over-sensitive to language. Maybe I've been here too long. But over the years I've read countless threads written by people who frame personal opinions not as "I want this to happen," but as "We want this to happen." My mild irritation with this tendency of certain people to speak on everyone's behalf has turned into a pet peeve.

At any rate, as I have said before in other threads, I support the idea of remastering any or all of these games, as long as Bethesda does not do it. Myself, I don't want Bethesda to spend their time remaking old games. I want them to make new games.

I agree with the consensus that "we" shouldn't be included in what you want.

That said, I'd play the hell out of a remastered Battlespire or Redguard.

I want Morrowind remastered as long as it's just graphics, physics, interface and other things of technical use. I want the story, the character models, the stats, everything content related intact.

These threads are becoming a daily thing now. It's really frustrating to repeat the answer again and again. It won't happen. Isn't there a way to filter those threads out?
