Remember, this is not Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim

I have seen complaints about TESO not being true to Elder Scrolls tradition. This is not a single player game. It is an mmo based on the elder scrolls. I had a blast playing in the beta and felt right at home in the mmo version. The elder scrolls ambiance is present and thriving. If you want a single player experience, I suggest you go play the single player games. Plenty of mods etc to keep them fresh. If you want an mmo with elder scrolls atmosphere, here it is.

Almost beating a dead horse here OP. Many including myself have tried to present this...fact is some people want skyrim online and some want WoW in TES universe. You just cant please everyone. I for one embrace ESO for what it is TES in an Online world and I couldn't be happier with it.

When Oblivion was released "This game sux, it's not Morrowind"

When Skyrim was released "This game sux, it's not Oblivion"

(I expect when Morrowind was released "This game sux, it's not Daggerfall")

Welcome to the internet and the wonderful (and often rage-filled) world of gaming forums. :D

I am confident that ESO will find its niche, there will be more than enough people who like it for what it is for it to be a success. I will be one of those.

I just wonder; Will the Elder Scrolls be in it? If not, why is it called The Elder Scrolls?

It's not an epiphany for me, as last weekend's beta was my first experience with the game.

It is not Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim... unfortunately ..

Why peoples refer Morrowind ?!

- Probably because of the freedom, and realism ..

- Yes. It's interesting to be noted that only Morrowind is offering the most freedom and realism in TES series, since the cloths, the armors, the weapons - they are not just a some picture over a mesh, but they are real objects on top of the characters naked bodies, and when you slain a mob - you can really took whatever you see on it, down to "leaving the corpse completely naked" even sometime for a sort of black humor..

- The freedom .. on Morrowind you were able to make a really stunning enchants, practically unlimited for each spell you ever own.

We really can see these things going down since Oblivion, and alot of peoples were expecting to see them coming back on stage with TESO.

And yes .. one more thing - the items .. - An item with none stat .. in MMO .. ?!

- For sure if this were year 1983 - i would believe it...

One more thing - TES and grinding for level ?!

- I am not sure if this is applicable to TES franchise ..

Well.. probably this is in the beta.

ESO is the game that it is and I think, based on vids & first impressions, it's a perfect mix of MMO and Elder Scrolls.

One thing was that people didn't really spend much time on the internet back then, nor was there the same sense of entitlement.

That said, I remember thinking Morrowind was great, but wasn't as much fun as Daggerfall. Being able to run it without constant crashes was a plus though.

FWIW, I am reasonably sure that there are elder scrolls available for capture in Cyrodiil, sort of like Capture The Flag. I don't PvP so I am not at all SURE but it seems like I saw a vid where they mentioned stealing the scrolls from opposing faction's keeps and transporting them (many questions were asked about that process, etc)... might be a link somewhere but for the sake of the conversation of the "feel" of the Elder Scrolls game, I think it's safe to say that it'll have it. :)

"Once the Elder Scroll has been obtained, it needs to be read at the time wound atop the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Throat_of_the_World_%28Location%29 in order to learn http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dragonrend. When activated, the Dragonborn will open the scroll and a blinding light will engulf their vision."

Dragonrend is used to try and kill Alduin. See the connection?

Maybe further on as the plot of the MMO progresses near a time where the Dragons came back(Skyrim).

I've tried to get into Morrowind, but I found it too tedious. Still have it, and may try playing it again.

If this is not a single player game, why did Zenimax spend all this money on voice acting and long dialog if a lot of grouped players will skip it? They learned nothing from what happened with SWTOR. There are a ton of single player elements in this game. Like it or not, it will be compared to the Elder Scrolls single player games.
